Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

This is true, I’m coming off a 12hr graveyard shift and come straight  to the footy so apologies on advanced to everyone as i wasn’t able to focus on anything except the good goals and how Dec was doing

I can't really relate to your circumstances (being here in downtown Cavtat, Croatia where, at 9am it's already 26 degrees) but I have really appreciated the commentary.

Big day here of course (3pm). Wall-to-wall Poms. At least they won't be biased. They hate the Frogs and Croats equally.

Now back to the AFL. Remind me again who we want to win -Swans?

Many thanks for all the reports.

How did VDB go?  Is he getting closer to promotion?

From today

- Weideman is AFL ready. He needs to be considered in our structure. Is it Hogan and Tom McDonald only. Where does the Weid fit in??

- Jay Lockhart is ready for AFL. He is not rookie material. He is National Draft material.  Our next Casey recruit. He need him as cover for Jetta but he is already good to go

- Corey Wagner could be grabbed by another club. Too good for VFL. I don’t know if he fits in as we have similar types

- Dom Tyson must come in if Viney is out for a few more weeks. He starred again today and must replace Hannan. If we don’t, then we have to let him go to Suns or Blues

Pinch hitting in the ruck for starters.

Would enable us to leave Tom Mac forward the whole game, and ensure that even when either Tom or Hogan are resting, we still have 2 talls up forward.

Haven't heard of Dion Johnstone for a few weeks.

He sounded as if he could have been developing as a small defender under Nev's tutelage, but has disappeared from the radar.  Is he injured?

I believe so mono.  Nothing severe from memory.

Dion was at the AFL game yesterday. He said he should play in the next 2 weeks. I didn’t ask what was wrong... perhaps  I should have !!

Quad I think... it was in the weekly Miso video on the club website but no listed in the official injuries.

What a f***ing win! The gods were in our favour as the wind died down in the last but we faught it out against all odds. Weids amazing second half, Pedo and Keilty instrumental in defence, and some great work around the ball from the whole midfield. That was sick.

Love the passion and emotion in these posts Drunkn.  Move over Bruce and make way for Drunkn.

OUR FRIEND THE WIND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons continued their winning run against Footscray  on Sunday to make it nine in a row after a hard fought battle in a wind affected game at Casey Fields

The winning result was however, not as easy and straightforward as one would have anticipated especially after some withdrawals from the team through injuries. At half time, the  Demons were staring at defeat for the first time in two and a half months after the Bulldogs took full advantage of the northerly wind blowing down the ground, kicking four goals in time on to take a 20 point lead into the sheds at the main break.

But it is not for nothing that the Demons are sitting in second place on the VFL premiership ladder and they showed their class by holding the Dogs scoreless in the premiership quarter while they piled on five goals four behinds of their own and then they narrowly outscored their opponent in the last to win by 15 points.

Footscray, which is battling with a log jam of teams for a finals berth were never one to be taken lightly, given that they are one of only two clubs this season to have beaten ladder leaders Richmond. So while the home team scored the first goal through James Munro, the determined Doggies defended strongly against the wind and held them to a lead of only a goal.

After an arm-wrestle for much of the first half of the second term, Footscray edged ahead to lead by 26 points in the shadows of half time before a handy Angus Scott major against the run of play gave the Demons some breathing space. Sam Weideman who had been a little off target in the first half came to the fore with the first goal after the main break and two more in the last quarter. That was enough to see the team home particularly as our friend the wind decided to moderate a little and the Bulldogs' legs seemed to tire as well and the game came to a spluttering halt with the Dees well in control.

When the heat was on, Casey was well served in defence by Jay Lockhart, Declan Keilty and the Wagner brothers and skipper Jack Hutchins. Cam Pedersen was strong throughout and Dom Tyson had far too much skill and ball winning ability in the middle for the Demons. Aaron vandenBerg backed up his excellent first up return game with another solid performance and will be challenging soon for a place in the Melbourne senior side.

Next up for Casey is an away game against Geelong VFL at GMHBA Stadium when second place and a home final could well be determined.

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
