Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

We won't make it. Bulldogs will tear us a new one as quick teams do on the MCG.

And we play in Darwin the week before.  If we do not get selection 100% right vs the Dogs, including fresh legs and some speed (Baker? Kent?),  they will roll us.

Every time anyone (myself included) does a ladder predictor exercise, the thing that is commonly missing is the occasional upset win where a rubbish side knocks over a top 8 side.

If we are lucky will need to win 'only' 5 of the last 8 to make it, as long as we keep our healthy %.

Its highly possible  however that we will need to win 6 of 8..

Basically its yet another time in this clubs history where they need to make a stand.  Will they ever stand up and deliver?

No.Not based on current evidence.

But at least it will be a lesson for this young club.

It is a game of margins after all.

I like it how after all we went through last year we are looking at a best case scenario of limping into the finals. Hardly seemed worth waiting for but it doesn't have to be glamorous this year I guess. Just gotta get in.

Yeah, agree that we’ll probably only beat Freo and GC and finish the season at 10-12 after being 8-3 at the half way mark.

If that were to eventuate, some serious questions need to be ask of the coach for an even worse second half than last years injury depleted one.

Althogh in today’s environment, an AFL coach gets chance after chance after chance, so Goodwin will be safe for the next 5 years regardless.

How a round of upsets shakes up the race for September

I was positive about making the 8 until yesterday , we’re done now , can’t see us getting the 5 wins , any team that concedes 19 goals to the aints that easily can’t play in September and won’t be able to take a scalp

It's up to the members to get the jungle drums started if this eventuates.

I personally don't find missing finals acceptable.

Roos righted the ship and the evidence to date shows Goodwin has put holes in the hull

Jonathon Patton done his ACL (suspected), big loss considering Cameron out for another 4.

So the 8 is open, plenty of sides above us with injuries, except Tigers.

You don't get opportunities like the last two years.... we basically have 1 major injury

Lever, Treloar, Dunn , Patton,  Rioli....

Season ending injuries (and one retirement) to gun players from teams in the thick of the finals race.

Would be nice if Geelong lost one.

It’s looking unlikely we make it now. If we somehow fail again this year then serious questions need to be asked of the coaching staff and onfield leaders. For this list of talent to not make the 8 despite a good run with injuries and a decent fixture is unacceptable and pathetic.

Either we make it, or some heads should roll. It’s sad enough that after what happened last year, our best case scenario is now limping into the 8! Where is the hunger?!

How is that our best case scenario?

If we make it from here (and I'm with you that it's looking unlikely), we're almost certainly going to have to beat Geelong in Geelong, Adelaide in Adelaide, West Coast in Perth or Sydney. Get a win (or two) out of those in our run home and our form would have to be alright.

Anyone mentioning rolling heads has my furious agreement. Let them eat cake (and see what happens )

I see nothing wrong with 'limping into the 8'.  If we make it there we will have earned it,  thats no different to any other team. We haven't made the finals for 12 years. It would be a relief to get there no matter how we do it.

Youve got to be in it to win it. Anything can happen on the finals stage.

Including losing Week 1 by 100 goals to Collingwood or Cats.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
