Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Group think for you again, Lewis was ok today, couldn't play his usual QB role because of circumstances, open your eyes and mind

An overblown and over emotive post from @DeeSpencer, bit like @joeboy 3 word

The defence was under seige because the 15 or 16 in front of them didn't defend

What the heck is the point of a defender who can't defend. What role is that?

If he could run, kick long and tear the game apart I'd accept his lack of defensive skills but he can't. What he can do is find the ball but Hibberd and Salem can do that.

Find me a defender who can't defend who's ever won a premiership. If they do exist I bet they are bringing more to the table than racking up little dinky kicks.

Lewis is Lewis.

Very slow, goes to ground too easily, is prone to absolutely horrible turnovers and giving away unnecessary frees/50m penalties.

Also able to hit up targets nicely and apparently gives good leadership.

Can't imagine he's playing much senior footy in 2019.

Harsh on Lewis! had a lot to handle today, as Dazzle has said Bernie more a worry.

Last season I'm afraid!

Booked in to see my doctor tomorrow as I was obviously at a different match today. Thought I was at Dees vs Pies but I must have been watching Lewis on replay when he played for another team.

The midfield were smashed to pieces  from the first bounce today.

I am more concerned with Jones once again, not standing up in a big game than Lewis at Half Back.

The ball was fired at him far too many times.

Our midfield had a dominant Ruckmen feeding them at all angles and they failed him miserably without a whimper...

Lewis is not the problem...

Lewis was fine today I thought.

Said last year Bernie shouldn't be offered a contract for 2018 and got absolutely blasted on here. He was finished last year and now just plods around doing dinky little 30m kicks from his 15 disposal per game. I'd honestly rather get hunt back in, at least he offers a bit of speed and run out of the back half.

I said the same thing. Old Bernie...he’s always good to throw it on the boot to no one under zero pressure though...take some heart in that.

Well done, DeeSpencer. You've won by the length of the Flemington Straight.

This poster was also famous for “I’ve had enough of Tom McDonald” a few years ago. If you’d run a book on hardest bundle dropper I’d have wagered the house.

Perhaps said poster has learned from his lessons and has decided to just pot older blokes who are closer to the end, thus leaving him less room to look a little silly?

I'm done with this pretender being unable to stand any half decent forward with an ounce of leg speed or overhead ability.

I'm done with him falling over or giving away free kicks because he knows he's physically incapable of even halving the contest.

I'm done with his futile efforts to change direction.

I'm done with the way he picks up the ball protecting himself and only on his left side so he can't move on to his right.

I'm done with his handballs that go to grass.

I'm done with him taking kick outs despite only being able to kick 45 metres.

I'm done with his stupid fake hair.

I'm just absolutely done with Jordan Lewis.

Vote. Tell me where you stand. If you're sucked in by the stat padding that invariably occurs when he's a mile from his opponent or even playing 7 defenders then good for you. If you think some of his nice short kicks justify his ongoing selection then let me know.

Personally, I can't have the team playing a guy who will get so badly found out by a good team. I don't see what that achieves? I think we've got 2 really nice rebounding defender options in Hibberd and Salem who whilst not perfect are tough, courageous, pacy and can beat good opponents. They are the guys who should be getting 20 cheap kicks a game and around them we should have defenders who have the ability to actually defend.

Your a drop kick - stop starting threads and support some other team !!

Totally agree with OP. Really hope this is his last year.

Costs us 1-2 goals a game by being slow and unable to chase down opposition forwards. Play another tall or pacey back like Hunt or Frost and see how we go.

We have seen how we go with these two, and it hasn't been any better.  Hunt has more upside and better games in the bank, but he's hardly banging the door down at Casey.

Has Tom McDonald played as a defender since then? Or did the coaches eventually - through injury or otherwise - wake up to the fact it wasn't working and move him forward.

Even Tom himself admitted he'd lost all confidence in his ball use as a defender.

If you got them to speak honestly I think you'd find a few team mates who have lost all faith in Jordan Lewis as capable of winning a one on one contest or willing to really put his body on the line for his team.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
