Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Petracca in a rut?

Changed my username after last weeks game as I was sick of Petracca and his lack of effort combined with his general softness.    Unfortunately the mods changed it back.

The laziest player in the comp who fumbles every ball, drops easy marks and generally looks disinterested.  No sense of urgency. Thinks hes a superstar when in reality he should be at Casey.

He has allowed himself to get caught up in the hype that has surrounded him from day 1 which has consequently shot his ego through the roof.  He is still immature psychologically and I believe that that penny has only just dropped. He is now starting to question himself and self-analysing (which isn’t a bad thing).  This period of uncertainty has been reflected in his performances over the past couple of months.

Continuing to play him in the senior team will only exacerbate the problem. He needs to sit down with the club psychologist for some D & M’s and play at Casey until he shows he has (a) returned to planet earth and (b) Is consistently playing 4 quarters of team-oriented football.

I didn’t think he was that bad last night.

Thought his first game against Geelong indicated he was going to take the season by storm. He was strong, hard at it, good in the air and used it well. If he ever gets what he’s capable of  and that it’s expected every week, we and the whole completion could  see a top 10 competition player. Regrettably it hasn’t worked out that way  so far ,but it’s far from too late.

As it stands though he’s flat lined at best, since then and l desperately hope he doesn’t become a wasted talent like many. others.

He and Gus seem like good mates that we hoped would take us somewhere.

Gus doing well after his difficulties ,Trac just seems to be going through the motions but we all know he’s got the ability.

Hope the Footy dept can get to the bottom of this , identify the problem and fix it.

Drop

His disposal is average and as a forward he’s a shocking shot at goal, seems like he’s lost confidence and rushing everything and doesn’t have the tank to play midfield, really is in no mans lands and needs to have a think about what he wants from himself. I actually would try him down back, make him accountable.

Needs to find his footy again.

Magoos for the Truck.

He like any can earn his spot back.

No places for cameos.

Needs to feel the hunger.....maybe try another shower or bath ( new water ;) )

Very disappointed

Been getting a game based on reputation.

Last night BT and Hamish kept saying he loves the big stage and was 'made for Friday night footy' - and this morning many of the commentators seem to have woken up to the fact that he's been taking the p155 for months now.

Writing was on the wall weeks ago.

A few weeks at Casey with a few important goals set by Goody & Co.  A message that talent will only get him so far (which is probably where he is at now).  Extra time/space & less pressure at Casey might be just the tonic.

Build 3 to 4 quarter tank, get stronger over ball, clean up disposal (lower eyes coming i50 and hit other short targets around the field), improve goal accuracy and provide more 2nd efforts around the drop.  His disposal is super sloppy/rushed at the moment.  Rarely assesses and often just plays on in hope.  He over runs the ground ball far too often also, leaving it behind for other team mates to try and clean up, or worse, our opponents.

Needs to build tank to enable equal time spent through the middle and up forward on his return and i would be playing him in same dual role at Casey before bringing him back provided he finds the form there and earns his place over whoever he might be replacing.

The only issue in dropping him is that there are many others who are less value to the team and equally as unproductive: Hannan, Neal Bullen,Vince, Tyson, etc, etc. Where do you draw the line?

Such depth of.....?

I think Hogan gets stale played as a stay at home forward, Tmac is also effective around the ground. I’d leave Petracca in the f50 even when the ball is up the other end, give him some time one out.

I thought he was easily the most influential player in the first quarter. There was a general panic which we got the ball to him in a one on one situation. He was using his big body so well in the stoppages just making room for himself and others.

Adelaide then got more numbers at the contest in the backline and he got lost trying to play up the ground.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
