Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Should be one of the better games of the year, Dees by 19?

What's the weather like in Melbourne today?

We will win this going away.

Last year the Pies were too hard and focused for us. Still had the soft underbelly.

Thanks to them and the Hawks this year, we have since learnt the art of being hard and focused. witness the Dogs game. They did the old "throw the kitchen sink at 'em and watch them wilt" trick. It only made us stronger.

DEMONS by 40+

GO DEMONS!!!

We have improved so much from last year and the Hawthorn game this year.

Last week we started really slowly, and looked sluggish after the Alice Springs six day break. Dogs jumped us, got three in front and without playing that well, we still won by over eight goals.

You can see the confidence and belief in the players and they will keep getting better. The rest of the competition still really don’t rate the Demons but the comparison with Geelong of 2007 is a great one. A little bit of luck and we can become the team of the next decade, starting now!

A simple example of us being underated is AA discussions, Ben Brown selected over Hogan is a joke, Brown has kicked 3-4 more goals than Hogan, but Hogan would have 10 plus goal assists and spends time in the middle. Similar argument for Jetta.

It would be terrific to bring our best from the opening bounce and absolutely [censored] the Pies!

Still, while I’m envisioning a five goal plus win, will gladly take a win and move into second!

Go Dees, pump those Pies!

If we win this one and go to the break 9-3 with a monster % I will believe we can give the year a serious shake. However its a bigger test than most are giving credit to"

Collingwood play a fast style of game that will test our systems.

I am hoping Round 23 revenge x ladder positions x MND x massive crowd doesn't mean we waste energy and move away from the structures and composure that has been our backbone during the streak.

Everyone plays their role and we play hard and run hard and we win but there is not much room for error in this one, particularly early.

I had enough of the Filth supporters at Casey on Saturday so I can't endure them again today, but I shall enjoy watching the game on TV.

Demons by 8 goals. go Dees!

Don't tease us with omens. What's your dream win/loss correlation percentage at Champion Data?

I did dream that my brother fell off a balcony at a party and landed in a wheelbarrow. When I looked over the edge, I only saw his top half. That one didn't come true so that affected the ratio.

Re footy, it's quite high So....

Chilly but fine, no rain in sight. Should be perfect conditions really.

Nervous but midly confidant, will be in the olympic stand at 2pm for some comedy.

The teams who have beaten us badly this year boast an impressive array of small forwards. My main concern today, surrounds our ability to deal with their small to medium forwards. Really hoping I don't see too many Collingwood speedster leaving Lewis and Vince trailing behind as they run in to goal. I'd like to think we've made the appropriate structural changes since the Hawthorn and Richmond games to ensure we don't get exposed out the back. Our forward line should be too good for them and our midfield should beat them at the contest. It's scary to consider what the rest of the season will look like if we win and win well today.

I agree but also consider the Pies to have a similar issue with our forwards.

I think we're gonna see a truck load of goals today.

Found this on the herald sun website. Gawny playing squash sounds interesting.

Pumped for today. Hope Gawn smashes Grundy and shows who is the number 1 ruckman in the comp. Hope our forward line just dominates and we have  a good win and grab 2nd spot.

I hope you have a wonderful day hurling abuse and vitriol at that lot Jane.

BTW Jane, I'm guessing that "corporate" filth supporters can afford dental implants ( albeit of poor quality ). Check that out if you can. Although vomiting or spitting them out while  simultaneously gorging a hot dog and a classy Jim Beam may make it an easy task

Uncle - I am quite the lady at the football so I will not be lowering myself to the standards of those around me. These blokes are OK at work and whilst they started off a bit cocky and obnoxious at the QB game last year, they were soon quietened by watching the Dees destroy them in the last quarter.  I am hoping for victory again today.

Go Dees

That was never in doubt Jane and I'm sure you will conduct yourself with the utmost decorum.

However, in view of the occasion, a minor lapse or two is acceptable.

In that spirit, I suggest spitting on them occasionally. It will wordlessly express your contempt while simultaneously make them feel comfortable - just as if they were in the filth social club.

I hate the filth ...

Particularly after the taunting I endured from them, well, from one of them in particular, after the Round 23 debacle.

I made the mistake of reading the filth Big Footy page. They were derogatory about Demons supporters... So I posted something along the lines of "Hey there toothless Centrelink benefit recipients. Don't be mean about Demons' supporters. It makes us sad. If you keep doing it we'll put up your rent."  For some reason the post was deleted.

Hopefully the expression "revenge is a dish best served cold" springs to mind after today's match.

Go dees !!!!!

When I was Team Manager of the MFC in 79, I was warned about the Vic Park Visitors' race and the cretons who threw cups of urine and spat on visiting teams and officials.

Heeding that advice, I ran up and down the race as I entered and left the ground and never stood in, or near the race, thereby denying them an easy target.

Disgusting really.

Hey, DOF, that brings back extremely fond memories.  Made the pilgrimage down to Vic for the big game a few years back.  Was one of those (sadly rare) occasions where we had a big win.  Brought a tear to the eyes to see the black & white army leaving in their droves half way through the last Qtr.  Was almost worth the trip just to experience that!  (Getting the win was kinda nice, too!  LOL)

DEE-RUBBING by George on the Outer

For the second week in a row, the Demons had to endure some particularly oppressive match conditions — this time, playing in 30 degree temperatures at the MCG, following the humid sticky Sydney atmosphere of last week.   The warmer conditions didn’t seem to worry the Dee’s since the ball was so much easier to handle, and handle it with surety they did in handing out a 45 point drubbing to the much fancied Western Bulldogs.   After a slow start that saw the Dogs out to

CROSSING THE PICKETT LINE by The Oracle

Melbourne’s performance in losing its Round Zero contest in Sydney has certainly caused the club, the coach and the players to come firmly under the watchful eye of the football world and exposed all of its aspects to a microscopic lens.   Much of the commentary surrounding them has been less than complimentary and, while some might argue that this is unfair after only one round, leaving aside some of the scuttlebutt that surrounds a lot of the discussion around the game, a fair amoun
