Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

One has been told

By a player quite old

That the handle one pulls

Not the one called the bull

Will be replaced in a plan

By the son of the man

Who once took to flying

On the shoulders of Lyon

Now that's a limerack

Way too direct. You’re suppose to tell us these things in an ambiguous nursery rhyme.

Did anyone see Neale Daniher's speech to the Melbourne players that they showed after the footy last night on 7? I just found part of his talk here.

It's interesting to see during the week when he spoke to collingwood and essendon he was joking around having a laugh but when he spoke to the Melbourne players and apparently the whole Melbourne staff were told to come in and listen, he was all serious and spoke about taking our opportunities and about why not. He said why not take our opportunity this year and have success. Why can't you go on and be premiers. Spoke about the last premiership being in 1964 and said its time for us to win it. You could just see the look in the players eye especially Jonseys that he gets it.

Gee if that doesn't motivate the boys Im not sure what will. Neale is just amazing. You think after each Queen's birthday you are never sure if Neale will be around the following year but he is still fighting on. I think it's great for any 1st year player this year hears Neal speak and learn from him.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned but do you reckon Jack Viney will want to win this game? He had to watch on last year while his team mates put in one of the worst performances you’ll see when they had everything to play for. He had to watch the Collingwood players and supporters laugh at us, and continue to laugh at us to this day, without being able to do a thing.

I reckon there’s a real chance he will actually kill someone on Monday, and they will need an excavator to dig their carcass out of the MCG turf.

Really hopeful of a dees win here, but I think it will be close.

How about this gem?

This will be season definer and ladder shaping game. The Pies will win this one with a leg in the air. I cant see any part of the ground that is inferior to the demons. All the guns will be firing on Monday. Grundy along with Coxy will own Gawn no team can go with them two. The scoring power with the whole mid size gang will dominate, just a look at the Demons backline they wont be able to contain the Pies. Our midfield is a class above theirs. I feel Bucks will be making it known were are here not just be numbers in the finals but absolutely believe we are contenders. I know people cringe at the lofty expectations, I picked the Tigers out from round 9 last year it was in everyone's face, only a few could see so far out. The Pies at close to midnight on the premiership clock. Come round 18 onwards when the majority of the list is fit for selection, I feel the pies will close to unbeatable. On the flip side those campaigners beat us on Monday everything I just said is [censored] straight out of my arse.

Lots of loves from me on this one:

  • love for Danners the man, and and his attitude in adversity;
  • love for the way our footy club has embraced Danners, and the MND program;
  • love for the inspiration that Danners continues to give to the football community in general and our club in particular.

Let's just do it!

The the tigers going down , it is a critical game.  Win and we sit second, with a solid percentage and in great shape.  Lose and we slip into the middle rungs of the 8.

Also, I so want to kick the [censored] our of those turgid dog [censored] eating pies.

the one thing i do agree is that the magpies are primed for success now

they average out as bang on 25 years old, but part of the reason for that is cos they do skew old and young - their middle tier of 24-27 year olds with some degree of experience is basically hoskin-elliot, treloar and adams, al of whom they poached from gw$, and crisp, who they got from the bears

sidebottom, grundy and josh smith are their only players in that bracket that were home grown -

wells, pendles, dunn, etc won't be around forever, and they're absolutely key players for them - they have six players with more than 150 games under their belt playing on monday

greenwood and mayne are further 'imports' in their side

Where he comes from that is considered good grammar assuming they know the meaning of the word. Grammar for his type is usually something to do with ice quantities.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
