Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Jones said in his post-match on-field interview that the Dogs threw something different at them that they weren't expecting. I'm curious what this could be. Did anyone pick up anything out of the ordinary (for them or football) about their play or set-ups? Obviously they're a very good and creative stoppage team - being right up the top for clearances and dead-last for taps - and they work the angles well on the handballs through traffic - but why wouldn't Jones be expecting this?

Just got home from the game. We played well after that 1st quarter. We did what he had to do. Shut down the dogs. We held them to only 4 goals after 1/4 time to ours 13.

Tommy and Jess are becoming fantastic having them up there together. They work so well together.

Jetta wow what a reliable underrated defender he is. He was just awesome today.

Maxy was great except his goal kicking. Just fix it Max and you will be the complete player.

Loved the game from Gus, clayton and happy to see Jones kick a goal at an important time to. Viney gets another game into him.

Yes the Lever injury hurts but someone will step up to take that role and our backline is pretty stable at the moment.

Fristch went back and took some great marks.

We are sitting 2nd which will probably change but at the moment life as a melbourne supporter is pretty good.

I liked the moment at the 20 minute mark of the final quarter Brayshaw came off and Jones came back on. The two of them had a little hug

It was great to see Jones out there with his 2 kids and celebrating with them after. He deserved to be chaired off as a winner.

It doesn't seem all that fashionable to like Jordan Lewis, but I thought he was very good again today and is having another good year.

He'd be fairly happy with his career move too, he chose us over 10 other clubs, and it didn't really work last year. He would be thinking flag #5 is at least a genuine possibility now.

Stopping their momentum after their 3 quick goals at the start was awesome.  The players did it within the quarter whereas in the past it was more the coaches at the breaks.  The team has really matured to see what needed to be done and got it done.

Having said that Goodwin moved TomMc forward mid first term which gave us a target.  Until then we had 17 i50 for 1 point.  That move helped changed the game.

On a humourous note - had a good laugh when Trengove was in Max's face while play was still on and then Max points to Jesse about to kick a fantastic goal.  Bevo should have dragged him for that - the bulldogs still had a chance at that stage.

Really? Everytime I've listened to him I've never got the impression that he was arrogant in his abilities?

Me either, then I read this on the website last week.

I don’t think it’s a bad thing, just surprised.

"I always knew I could play like this. It's not surprising me – it might be surprising a few people out there, because I've had a tough road to get to here," Brayshaw said.

This is another great example of our growing maturity and Goody and the coaches' ability to not only make changes, but to make the right changes as well.  The players stopped the momentum early and we made a few changes that allowed us to not only get back into the game, but to play the game on our terms.

Well Brayshaw wouldn't have gone pick 3 if they didn't think he had the talent. Maybe we are just shocked that one of our early picks is actually a good player. Because over the years some have been duds. Gus isn't arrogant. He just believes in himself and his football.

There was another delicately build Melbourne player... Superstar. If he's 1/10 good as the Sainted Tulip then he'll be just fine

Apt comment, Frankie. Absolutely correct. There are elements of comparison that remind us how good 10/10 actually was against the roughest, toughest and nastiest of teams.

Forgotten what is feels like to follow a team that is just flat out better than it's opposition, so even when we played an ok game without being brilliant we still win easily and never looked like losing....feels good, man

We were offensively coasting today - sloppy at times in the last links of the chain, lairising at other times, not entirely switched on with our decision-making, letting them get on top in the clearance battle - and still we controlled the match, put in the necessary effort and lifted the intensity when required, adjusted to the opposition, demonstrated our slick movement, pressure and spread, and won by an easy 50 points. Despite the umpires, a key injury, and some good periods of intensity from the Dogs.

This is a different team we are watching - brimming with confidence and understanding their roles and exactly what needs to be done. All smiles after the match and I can't recall a team ever looking so happy and having so much fun on on the field. I doubt we'll even spend much time reviewing. Tick off the easy one after a tough interstate trip and short break and get set for the next challenge. I have full confidence that they'll be more fired up and switched on next week. It's a strange feeling as a supporter.

How good were some of our passes into the middle that set up goals. It was beautiful to watch. By the way I don't want to hear any media saying we can't win at etihad now. We have won all our games there this year.

I think this picture sums up the day and what it meant to our skipper.

God I hate Etihad but very happy to have been at the game. Thank God we don’t have to play there again this season.

To the loud mouthed, obese, bad tempered Bulldog supporter sitting next to me who invaded my personal space for four quarters - hope it’s an uncomfortable trip home. Your team are rubbish.

I was in amongst a mange of Dogs fans for the first half and they were upset with the umpiring. One boofhead behind me called the arm chop on Hogan a ' soft ' free. I told him it's a new rule. The replay of the blatant contact set him off even more.

I drifted around to a spot populated by a heap of sensible Dees fans in the second half. Much more pleasant.

Had the whole family there today including two of my grand kids to watch Jonesy run out today. So good to be able to watch with no pressure and a lot of Dee supporters at our favourite stadium, 5 in a row. Wow...!!!!

Watched on from the Medallion club (first experience up there - via pretty reasonably priced EBay tickets) with my pregnant wife, good mate and his pregnant wife (hence the premium tickets - padded seats).

I attend every week at the ‘G (and can be quite boisterous) but couldn’t believe the whining and moaning about free kicks in the first quarter from Doggies fans. At the end of that quarter they were something like 14–5 up in free kicks. They just wanted every marginal call going their way and still couldn’t wear a single free going to us - even though they were definitely there (thanks Ray).

I kept my cool at the time, but now that it’s all over I’d like to say a big ‘F U’ to these people and a big ‘suck a fat one’ to all non Dees supporters all over this great land. We are coming big time and it’s about to get messy. You all better get used to the Dees smashing in and running off with the pill with skill. We are crafting goals like never before. The tide has shifted and this club is primed to put their best foot forward. We’re now built to compete for seasons . If this isn’t our year yet – we’ll be even better next year. Dees are back.

Lost Lever to an ACL and disappointed for Jake. He will bounce back better than ever and  hope that all goes well.    However in the Bulldogs Premiership year they lost Murphy to that dreaded injury. We will miss him but will cover him with Frosty.

Jetter played one of his best games with 9 marks in defence he was unstoppable as was Hibbo. 2 class acts. Oscar had his usual reliable game. I thought that Hogan and TMac combined well up forward for several goals between them. Plenty of run and grunt from Clarry Brayshaw, Viney, Harmes, and Jones. Gawn dominated all day in the ruck. We didn't win the clearance count but all our recognised players had an influence in our big win. That is saying something.

Bring on the Wobbles so the Queens Birthday Masters can teach them a thing or two.

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
