Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Give us some credit! (Media reaction merged thread)

Might still be carrying a grudge from his jaw accidentally hitting Rod Grinter’s fist.

He obviously remembers, unhappily, his encounter with Mr Grinter.

You would think he could be grateful to our club for the (rumoured) six figure payout.

And he spawned an umpire who's a dreadful example of the craft. I doubt he's still doing it he was so poor at it.

Terry had to have plastic surgery, after that, rod made a real big mess of his face, back then the club did not pay for the medical bills and the dogs had no money, the dees helped rod pay terry.

We're the team to beat for the flag apparently.
Richmond got every-one by surprise last year.
We're not gonna have that luxury.
Plenty of time for opposition coaches to work on picking our game plan apart.
Gonna find out how good we really are.

Just watched the replay again - as much as I normally loathe the Channel 7 coverage, I thought Bwooce and BT toned down the matey banter a bit. (No “Lingy” No “Richo” to share inside blokes gags). Message there Channel 7. Daisy is a gun and BT’s NT travelogue stuff showed a more sensitive side to him. What I simply cannot abide is Bwooces fawning pathetic love for “Duck”. I believe “Duck” is not really a very nice person, and yet we hear the dribble coming out of Bwooces mouth at every opportunity. I thought he may have been better than that.

This thread is embarrassing. Are we North Melbourne?

First of all, the OP has drastically misrepresented what was said.

Second if all... WHO CARES!!!???

Why would anyone in their right mind give a stuff how much ‘credit’ you get from media for winning games of football?

We’ve got a strong team playing amazing football and people still wanna have a whinge.

Remember where we’ve come from and enjoy the ride.

Still a long way to go in 2018 & have a lot to prove but these big headed media ex footballers need to get there heads out of their arses & acknowledge 5 in a row & not far from the most quarters won in history

Don't worry Billy we will go under any Radar, behind enemies lines, and shag them while they're all gloating.

Yep, keep the lid on until some time AFTER the Bye.

We will just keep on creeping up, as far as we can. And see where it unfolds.  Not putting pressure on is best for us, atmo.

Everyone remember; we are very young;  don't hold us down, But, just don't talk us up,,, yet.

Let the boys play with the freedom of Nil expectation for a bit longer,,, as we continue to grow in confidence.

I think it is realist to reserve judgement on us. I am delighted about our form and find it incredibly exciting and am more confident about our successful future than any time in the last 30 years, but it is understandable for many of us to be cautious given our history.

So far this side has outperformed expectations, but I prefer at this stage to “take one game at a time” and enjoy the ride. It is going to be wonderful  to watch it unfold.

I'm ok with Carey's comments. Came out on Monday and admitted he's a "dingbat" for saying we won't make finals after the training camp story. Took it on the chin, and in fact roasted himself in his own segment. Also... he's right from a certain point of view. You can only play the opposition that plays on the day. An injury riddled list can still play like champions and a champion list can still get slaughtered by garbage teams, much like Saints did to Tigers last year. You really do have to use your eyes on the day and make your assessment that way. We played like the best team in the comp on the weekend. We would have smashed any of the other 17 teams playing like that. BUT... Crows were witches hats like we haven't seen much this year. If you go game by game, they were the worst opposition we played (on the day) in these first 10 weeks, besides the Blues.

I reckon if I'm Carey, and I have no vested interest, I still want to see what the demons are like when it gets clutch. Get us into a slippery contested ball game, as I think we'll see on QB like we did last year, and win by a few goals, and you'll see him throw his criticisms out.

I think this week will tell us if we have actually turned the corner, media pumping up our tyres all week if we come out and smash the dogs I might start believing, or will we believe our own hype and not show up will be interesting to see

Looks like not going on torture camp was the best thing, the players complained that they lost conditioning out of the camp, and we had lots of injuries last year, now the  crows do the torture camp and they have had lots of injuries. The coaches did not do the camp, so they don't understand what the players bodies felt. I think the camp set the preseason back, and maybe they did it at the wrong time, the camp should happen right at the start of preseason.

Now I know there is only 2 years worth of data but in 2 years at two different clubs same result, also there was players at both clubs who were angry at the club for doing the camp, the camp died not build  resilience it builds resentment.

Now back on topic there is too much positivity about our team, we must win this week or it counts for nothing, I am enjoying this at the moment, but I know how the media work, lose to the dogs and all the media will come out and say I never trusted them.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
