Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Agree on Garlett, our structure early wasnt working and we ended up bombing to jeffy out numbered quite a bit in early rounds

I would like to see him now we are getting better inside 50 entries.

Agree with this in the first quarter - it wasn't working and a reliance on long bombs made us relatively pedestrian. The inside 50 and behind deep fwd pressure and penetration changed all of that - where the hard work of the rest of the team - particularly midfield - was rewarded with abundant scores. With space finders across the forward line, the kicking and passing improved to a target within range. Garlett knows how to play that game, it is what he did when he first joined us, albeit with limited success with our genetic 'bombing' that was so prevalent. He'd be our best 'crumber', too and has frustrated the Crows in the past.

That is why Pedo should come in. Another mature big body. It is not always about recent form but matching up on the opposition.

No for peddo to come in Tim Smith would have to go out, forget about pedo he should be in the team but others need to be in the side for the future, the weed role was to create a contest bring the ball to ground if he does not take the mark. The problem with pedo is he get comfortable with q good performance and gets complacent, at the moment there is so much depth so the old goes out.

A fine for what, pray tell?

One named Neville maybe?

It will be warm and dry.  It is Alice not Darwin. Check the weather forecast

Perth has been hotter in the round so far, going to Alice same as going to Brisbane or Perth.

Just noticed that the best players at Casey may (and I emphasise may) be listed in order of performance.

If so they were as follows:

Pedersen, Bugg, Hunt, Frost, White, Scott, Garlett

I know people may not want to hear it but if you are picking on form .. Bugg was probably a reasonable way in front of Garlett last Saturday.

Jeff had 18 disposals in a midfield that was absolutely on top including one on target snap for goal.

Bugg had 22 possessions with five goals.

We have to play Garrett for this match. It is a respect thing. If we pick him then I guarantee that he will repay the faith.

So he should play,

Contact was to Daisys chest not above shoulder  and Daisy    to his credit bounced off his bum straight back up,  no staging 2 guys going for the pill.   neither hurt play on

No, contact was to the head according to the MRO, just insufficient force.

It will be so humid and steamy and therefore super slippery come game time. Like playing in hot rain

Brayshaw's helmet will certainly get uncomfortable with all that sweaty heat trapped under there. And who knows if it even prevents concussions? I wish there was somewhere I could read a discussion on the topic.

Bugg and Pedo are in my absolute best 22, in place of Vince and Smith. I had Hunt there last year, but Spargo has knocked him out.

As long as he does a half time “how do we  sleep when our beds are burning” all body dance I’m all for it.

Well, if the Crows have a few coming back after injury, we can fix that with a bump or two from Pedo.

last year I think it was played around 4pm but it was played on Saturday.

The previous week we had played North at the MCG on a Sunday so we only had  a six day break.

This year the six day break follows the game.

As an AFL level player Garlett is streets ahead of Bugg though 'Diamond'....

I know you are stirring the pot, but as we all know there is form and then there is form.

A bit like Viney's form last week and on Sunday.

You will be giving @ProDee nightmares suggesting Bugg come may back into the team.

Interesting dilemma though rjay. I would like Jeffy in just because I believe we have fixed up our game plan issues, I think he would have had a field day against his old side yesterday and he has X factor, foot speed, goal kicking accuracy but how our game plan stands up against top sides is still to be demonstrated.

Alternatively the fact that we are No 1 for inside 50 entries by a huge margin may push you toward Bugg who seems to be a limited player but has one undoubted skill, he seems to know where the ball is going to land and pops up with a mark inside 50m. His set shot accuracy is still an issue but he does also bring aggro and defensive pressure. I love Jeffy but perhaps if there is a change it is Bugg in and Spargo rested?

We obviously haven’t “earned” a prime time game. Now Carlton, on the other hand .......

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
