Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

There was something different about our Game Plan after half time but i cannot put my finger on it , anyone know what it was?

Interestingly we’ve kicked the highest points for in the league with 940 to date, of concern we’ve conceded the highest points against of any of the teams in the 8 at 740 (better sides around 670-690, North the best at 640). I guess over 9 rounds that’s only a goal a game.

The one on the left is Zac Fisher, Jarrod Garlett is the one next to him. The third one is Harry McKay and, as has been correctly pointed out already, the tall one is Kreuzer (lucky we lost the Kreuzer cup).

 Agree on losing Kreuzer cup

(loved watching Travis Johnston’s 42 perfect disposals)

Kreuzer never impressive to me

most of his disposals are terrible hospital handballs and kicks

Think he has a very low IQ

For a brief moment I felt sorry for Carlton (only because I went to the game with my best friend who is a Carlton supporter)... but then I realized that nobody gave a stuff when we were garbage and I deserve this after years of suffering

What a game to go out on before I go away for 3 weeks!

Enjoy your break Jaded. If it śtarts to go pear shaped, you'll have to cut your holiday short.

We went a little more direct in the 3rd quarter but mainly because Carlton were all over the shop to start the 3rd and then very flat in the last quarter.

It also rained a bit more and the wind that was very strong in the first half had died down.

Beside a series of stuff ups to concede a goal on the siren our first quarter was very good in to a stiff breeze and the second quarter was composed with the ball as well.

Don't think so. I believe that our win in R6 of 2004 was by a few points more

That win was 106, was also against the blues and in the last couple of minutes I was screaming at the telly to get the margin out past 106 so we could better the previous margin. We duly did

He was B o G in my view. Look at his Fantasy points, 140 to Tom MCD 113

Milkshake, T-Mac and Max all well ahead of him in my book. By the way, I’m not a betting man but I did have a small wager on Oliver getting more possessions than Cripps - lost out on that one by 5. The difference? 5 soft free kicks.

Watching on tv I was thinking at half time we have a tendency to run forward in waves but it was like we were aiming to get the ball to about 35-40m out and then didn't really know what to do, handballing in circles, stuffing around with it etc

The 2nd half it felt like we started attacking the goals rather than trying to set it up a bit further out and we just steamrolled forward. It was dominance which I haven't seen from a Melbourne side before whenever we got the footy we would roll forward with 3 or 4 players similar to GWS "Orange tsunami"

If I was Blues suppprter I’d be peed off with how Lamb carries on and the young bloke Mackay rubbing Hibbos head when the flogger just got a 50m penalty awarded to him.

I think those boys resemble the MFC of years gone by whereas they’re just happy to be AFL footballers and couldn’t give a toss about results.

If you want to see the mindset Goodwin is trying to instil, watch how many players get to Hannan, after he chased and caused the turnover for Clarry's goal

You go from siren to siren, no matter the score

Do we have sirens at training ?

No one deserve votes when your side is beaten by over100 points, I don't care how many disposals they get full stop.

Check out the amount of "likes" on that one. D'land loves a pun.

Credit it where credit is due then -

Eddie working in his favourite cliche during a discussion on Melbourne fans maybe having to reconsider their late-season holidays - just as ANB piles on another goal: A nil-Buller in favour of Neil-Bullen August.

I'm certain it came out of his mouth before he was even conscious of it.

I got so accustomed to the theme of today, I turned away in the last quarter as I drank my pint in the MCC and laughed without a care in the world, like I was a Hawthorn supporter...

I'm picky with my puns. There can't be that much work in it. There's a fine line between a great pun/wordplay and just a dad joke.

Wouldn’t mind seeing our percentage based on the last four games only!

We played like every goal should be celebrated and every goal hurts.

Viney's little mid-week speech to the press helped in this regard: celebrating every goal and hurting for every score against the MFC.

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
