Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Brayshaw is such a good centre square player. His ability to kick 45-50 off either foot and one step means his clearances have maximum effectiveness.

Also Bayley Fritsch had 26 possessions. Not the best on the ground by any stretch but he's already showing he's not gonna be just a low possession, high impact player. He's better that that.

Hannth looked sharp as well tonight

You are almost actively campaigning for this bloke to fail just so you can crow about how you were right.  It's little off, OD.

The bloke has played in our 3 straight wins and has allowed us to play with greater flexibility with Hogan and T Mac.  We can use them deep forward and through the midfield, and we aren't asking T Mac to ruck.  Weid may not get a heap of it but his presence in the side has been crucial.

I reckon Tyson and ANB (even after a better game) would be looking over their shoulder with Viney about to return.

Wise blood he is useless. What did he do today. He had the lowest stats of 2 kicks, 4 handpasses and 2 tap outs. Any other 6 foot+ on the list could have got more than that. Hogan and Tmac don't need him. They need someone who contributes.

Is there any chance Harmes may get cited for his almost sling tackle on the boundary in the lat quarter (I think it was)?  Hopefully not, but very hard to second guess the MRP.

Dont think  so..... players head didnt hit turf.......but close.

The guy is such a gun. Didn’t have a massive arieal or forward game and seemed to play half back a lot.... still 26 touches. I’ve loved him since I first saw him at Casey and he’s killing it so far

No, he's not, but I'll be banging my head against the wall on this one so I'll leave it there.

Your utter hatred and barracking for his demise is not a good look for you, OD.

3 in a row and a thumping to the G Coast 69 points. Carlton next week, just bring it on as we are  Hot. However you can only beat what is in front of you.

Then  we have Adelaide (TP) Bulldogs at Etihad and Coli/wood at the G, Queens Birthday, Who says we cannot make it 7 win in a row !

This is not a dream it is for real.

The reason it is easy is because the Weird is giving us nothing. Viney on one leg would contribute more. Any other player would give more than 2 kicks and 4 hand passed. Are you suggesting he should stay in the side. If so why? He is clearly not up to top level football.

Lots of reasons to keep him, structure, allows TMac and Hogan to roam which was a massive part of the win today and also gives Gawn a chop out better than either Pedo or Harmes has so far this year.

It's not.  He's been against the bloke from the moment he arrived.

And there are differences in waiting to see more and writing a player off.  Go and look at his history on Weideman.  He isn't interested in seeing more, he's just interested in seeing the bloke fail.

Great win by the boys!

Finally put a team away, I was worried for a little while when the Suns made a mini come back thinking are we ever going to bury a side but we eventually did. Can't fault the performance everyone played well especially Clarry, T.Mac, Gawn and Harmes even everyone's favourite Nibbler played well.

Good luck to the selectors choosing which player to drop for Viney it's a tough one.

Wise I am not barracking for his demise but I have seen nothing the last two weeks that justify his inclusion in the team. How long will you play a guy with 6 possessions? and was against one of the poorest sides going around. Carrying players who consistently give little to the result will bring us undone against the better sides.

No, I won't look at od's history on the Weed - I believe you

But, his analysis is really low level criticism, not personal at all

Two hit outs R and B hardly a big help.

Amazing the difference Tmac has made to the forward line.

Another step in our slow, steady but inconsistent development.

For over a decade we have lost a lot of games against teams we "should beat", usually by one bad quarter and in particular a bad last quarter. Finally, we are beginning to win these games. Not brilliantly, but well enough. 11 goals is rather nice though.

These wins against Gold Coast, St. Kilda  etc... are not too much to brag about but the players are getting used to winning, our midfielders are learning to mix and roll with each other, confidence is growing, AND you can see the game plan clearly now.  We will still lose a game or 2 we should win (but that is happening to all teams in last 2 seasons) and our general field kicking still doesn't stand up under pressure, but at least I can watch a game through.

Very stiff to drop someone for Viney, but having competition for every spot except for Hogan and Gawn is a nice place to be for a while.

The Weed is a confidence player. Simple.

I saw two pieces of play early on where many other players would have had a ping tonight. Weed, be it through being team first or more likely having no trust in himself, went for the handball when he could have had a shot. From that point, he went further into his shell.

I'm not sure what it will take for him to get a strut in his step. All I know is that he isn't a spud.

T.Mac can play second ruck

Was it Day or May who punched Jetta and took him out?

The poor guy seems to get crunched evvery week but I bet you they won't cite anyone for taking him out.

Commentators just laughed about it while making a big deal of touching an umpire and the late bump on Salem at half time.

Great win.

Watching Gawn Jones Clarry and Brayshaw combine is sublime.

It will be massive once Viney is back in and back to his best.

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
