Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

or Cameron schwab. Who can forget his name. But I hitk Peter has done what he came to do. Get some stability into the club, get a good coach, get some sponsorship, increased membership and basically saved us. But gee it must have been a hard grind for him. Thanks PJ for doing everything you did.

Everything he's done for the club has been brilliant.  We are in a terrific position off field thanks largely to PJ and his ability to work in tandem with the senior coach and the board, something we weren't able to do for a very long time.

But all good things must come to an end at some stage, and his willingness to stay in some capacity in 2019 to assist the new CEO in the transition just goes to show what a professional and committed CEO he has been for the club.

Enjoy a well earned retirement PJ, your contribution to the club will never be forgotten.

It’s hard to imagine the state that the club was in when he entered.  We were broken and bereft of any hope.

Build him a statue.

Couldn't agree more - plenty of vacant spots outside the 'G'

let's get the Sculptor commissioned and place an order for the bronze.

Outstanding job.

Came with a great reputation but over 5 years has exceeded all expectations.

Its called leadership. Real leadership.

Along with Paul Roo's he gave the club credibility, respect, and a new found confidence in its future.

As a result, after a long hiatus, the MFC has become a serious footy club.

Probably the true measure of his impact may not be known for another 5 to 10 years, but there is good reason to think that he will be judged well by posterity.

Peter Jackson from the bottom of my heart  l applaud you for steering us away from Doom and Gloom. l am sure  Melbourne supporters feel the same way.

You helped our great club when in need. We were a lost soul and you helped to make us viable again and set us on the right track.              To me your a Demon for life. Thanks once again for being part of our Great club.

DaveyDee?

PJ has turned the ship around and got it moving in the right direction but we’re not fully underway just yet. It’s been a mammoth task to get us here but we need to get better still, make no bones about it we need to be middle rung club member wise and sponsor wise long term.

Thank you for all of the hard work Mr Jackson.

Will be difficult to repeat the power dynamics.

CEO's at AFL clubs unless they come with the direction of the AFL don't really have the power base that a CEO in the business world possesses. If anything they are more akin to COO's.

The power rests with the presidents.... not to mention the football department.

If PJ leaves us anything I hope it is the desire to appoint an experienced sports administrator and moreover we let her or him do their job. In reality the market is so small in Oz that there isn't that many candidates around.

I have been very impressed with PJ.

that said, I will wait to praise him for another 12 months. I would like to see him leaving with definite concrete plans for a new base and plans that make very clear that the loss of pokies income is well and truely covered (a decision I am thrilled with it must be said).

I was at a function some time ago now and PJ said he would always be a Melbourne supporter and he would be at the games in the outer, barracking along with the rest of us, well done Peter, words can't describe the job you've done for the club i love.

Damn. Thanks for everything, one of the best things to happen to the club since I can remember.

I trust he’s left us in a place where we won’t pick a cartoon character as his replacement.

The MFC needs the AFL support more than ever.

The precedent is set with the current coach - he got about 12 months and the knives started appearing.

A few well timed articles in the newspapers and the monkeys will fall out trees with the vitriol & “we have heard it all before.”

MFCSS is toxic and lurking in the “shadows”

Interesting times ahead. Wish the new CEO luck and will watch with interest.

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
