Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Seeing it's been confirmed that he will play I suspect he'll probably play.

Given how poor the clubs external comms are (exhibit 126 the Hasset and Ryder room palaver for Trident members) i wouldn't be so sure.....

Most are fans of Pedo...at 31 yo he is at his own peak level of fitness and resilience, match to match. He is bigger than teams expect - particularly on the move and he splits packs regularly taking that ball to ground and stays on his feet to shepherd the crumbers. Quite often his marking hits a purple patch either in a pack or on the run/lead as a chestmark. He is one of our best shots at goal anywhere from 50 metres out. He's no Watts at that but he is very reliable. The crumbers stick around him for the advantage he regularly provides. Rotated from the bench he hits a game like a rollercoaster with fresh legs and intent. Seldom is he caught with the ball by opponents without applying usually decent handball to his teammates. Pedo is in my first 6 at selection, if uninjured. Essendon are going to knock the sheet out of us - physically - and both Pedo and Frosty are two of our better options if this proves to be the case. The 'druggies get away with murder with the umpires as a token of support for their aggressive intent. We must have Pedo - although it is now too late - and Frosty to counter brain-fazed Essendrug. Both have been playing the 'new-brand' for three years at least, and may start something that stimulants cannot overcome.

I’ve been a Ped fan and he has given himself very chance since the start of last season and especially over this preseason to be his best. Last season early doors if he had played I think we would have been in a better position come year end.

If he had have been as dedicated as now when he first arrived at Melb he might be closer to having played over 100 AFL games, that’s on him.

I thought Weid looked good on Tues and will adjust to the tempo of the game at the highest level, he showed enough and will start clunking more of those marks he went for. He has the most upside of the 2 and is arguably on par with Peds at this point. Weid wins out for mine.

We play Etihad way better than the MCG.

Bizarre times.

I've wondered this in the last two years, it's almost as though we put so much effort into winning at Etihad that we forgot how to play our home ground!

As for Pedersen, anyone with a clue knows he's not an AFL quality key forward, which is why he keeps being left out.

He's very serviceable in the pinch hit ruck role where he can follow the ball around the ground and play as a ruck rover, but obviously there's presently no role for that.

Weideman was good in his first game back after a long lay off.  He's bigger, he moved far better, which suggests his ankle issues are over, he was aggressive with his tackling (5), and he's very smart with his ball use.

It's a no brainer to play Weideman ahead of Pedersen.

I almost hope we lose on Sunday.  Some heads on Demonland could literally explode.  I'd kind of like to see that.

Glad your one of the few with a clue

Im sorry the rest of us are clueless

It's funny.  When you get a notification that an 'Old Bear' has quoted you your first instincts are, "This won't be good".

It's amazing how often they're right.

I think we will make another change to the side with at least 4 new faces from Tuesday.

Bombers have 5 new players in and that will give them more fresh legs than us if we only bring in 3. I think we need at least another new player to even the difference somewhat.

We wouldn’t of racked up many Kms in our defensive 50 all night so we’ll be right

Rosebury (8), Foot (2) and Williamson (22) tonight.   At least that bald clown Nicholls is not in attendance.  Rosebury is generally good.   Williamson is the worry IMHO.   Let's hope they aren't a factor.   Just want to see a competitive effort tonight and in all likelihood we win if we bring that.   Dees by 26.

Yep.    They didn't destroy that part of my forecast.   Watching it again yesterday, we were royally screwed with a plethora of non holding the ball decisions in the 1st and 3rd quarters.   The farcical report of Vince says it all in terms of the in-built bias.   I know we have many issues right now as a club but this shouldn't be ignored either.

Happy to see McDonald and Spargo in, although I sure hope the medical staff know what they are doing with McDonald's foot. The last thing we need is another Viney-esque debacle.

Not sure why we have Hannan, Fritsch and Melksham in the same team, and I certainly wouldn't have brought Lewis back without a game at Casey given his recent poor performances. That said, Pedersen is the only one at Casey who is worthy of a call-up, and clearly he is out of favour.

None of Garlett, Stretch or Wagner could feel too aggrieved by their omissions, although Neal-Bullen and Harmes should feel very lucky.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
