Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Jordan Lewis Out with Broken Hand

Wow. Some of the comments on here are a disgrace.

Can you just for one minute imagine plaing AFL football with a broken hand on a wet day when legs and arms and wet footy’s are being kicked around.

Good on ya Jordan. Get yourself better as soon as you can

A broken hand ?

How about a little empathy for one of our Guy's playing under difficult circumstances, never showed that he was hurt. I did comment to my daughter during the game that he looked like he had a jab in the ankle as he looked like he was kicking with a "dead" foot.

take a few weeks off Jordan and get it right.

Go Dee's

We never want any player to be injured playing for the Dees.

It is in poor taste to take a cheap shot at Jordie today.

Yep certainly some vitriol being spewed in here. He had a poor game, but a broken hand explains why. He's a tough guy Jordy! Good on him for seeing the game out, must've been hard in those conditions and being part of such a disaster to keep pushing himself. He can heal up for a few weeks now and hopefully return fresh and primed to have an impact.

Played very well v North

Not according to J Brown +/- Roosy.

Jordan Lewis is one of the bravest players that has played the game.  I wouldn't have played at all after a 1/10th of the hit he received from Gia? v the dogs a few years ago.  He can be proud of his career, and his 4 flags.

But Melbourne's decision to get him, though filling the simpleton's heart with glee, said more about how inward-looking and safe we still were.  Bevo's dogs didn't need an ageing leader at the 11th hour; nor did the TiGeRs.

I am celebrating Lewis out, because for the first time since late 2016, I can trust most of the 22 in terms of leg speed and keeping their feet.  And yes, I am sure we won't miss his leadership...whatever that was supposed to ever mean and solve.

Did anyone see the footage of him chasing luke breust for 40m and getting overtaken by wagner? Broken hand or not he's too slow.

I've also broken a hand before and played out a game. It's not a painful injury.

How is he out of form? He Was the highest possession winner against North and one of the main reasons we beat Brisbane.

Are you basing his drop in form from Sunday when he played with a broken hand?

When he's keeping a player like Jayden Hunt out of the team I have a major problem with it. Our main problem is leg speed other teams notably Hawthorn use it to plot our downfall, he is a plodder keeping out a Jet for what purpose to play as a loose defender?

Didn't we bring in a 800k a year defender from Adelaide to play that role? what does he bring to the team D11? onfield leadership? onfield coach? tell me D11 I would love to know.

He's so unaccountable as a defender let's players run past him at will, teams put pacey players on him to expose him, North are mediocre let's be real regardless of streak.

oh I forgot he got the most possessions against Brisbane did he? gee wiz wow that's amazing, do you know they lost by 93 pts on the weekend D11, makes it look like a masterpiece of a game.

How bout young Stretchy I'd rather him as well plenty of toe about him give him a go now. Lewis will keep. He'll still get his top up of super from us.

Jonathon Brown was not impressed with his game against Brisbane and tends to agree with my sentiments and he's a big wrap for the Dees.

Sorry D11 I'm not on my own here other sets of eyes watch these games and say the same thing, that's life.

Well if Jonathan Brown agrees with you, you must be right.  I said he got the most p’s against Nth, not Brisbane.

Granted he doesn’t have much pace but he never has.  Go back and watch some of the replays of his delivery by foot.  I am a Hunt fan but he is a horrible kick.

How am I suppose to know what he says on the field and how he leads but since you’re the football genius I guess you can tell from your arm chair.

Lever didn’t come to us to play a half back role.

Jayden Hunt is keeping Jayden Hunt out of the side.  From the moment the first JLT game began until he was dropped he was in horrible, horrible form.  It had nothing to do with Jordan Lewis.

He has never been quick, what’s your point? Speed is not the only thing needed to play footy.

I guess you know exactly what type of break it was and his pain must have been exactly the same as yours.

Some of the stuff said on here has been disgraceful. Holding to the upcoming ANZAC day spirit, you wouldn't treat someone who's putting their body on the week in, week out for the club like that. I admit Jordie wasn't in great form but to be so disrespectful to someone who has shown so much commitment to the players and coaches to be named vice-captain is appalling.

Gee the footy is important but we're the MFC people, we stand for the club that is so great in every way, we're not collingwood flogs. People who spend every week trying to get us glory and honour should be treated with the respect they deserve. Some of you need to take a good hard look at yourselves.

I still don’t get it.  If he was injured, why wasn’t he benched, and a fit player used?  I do not question his endeavour, or even his bravery.  My issue is with the medical team and coaching staff having on the field if he was injured, or Lewis not letting on that he was injured.  I thought Goodwin wanted ‘fit’ players.  Could have shuffled the deck chairs, and maybe seen something different from what we saw.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
