When they were talking about Lewis playing back over the break alarm bells went off for me.

Don't know how we fix it against the Tiges but Goody better come up with something from left field to tackle their small forwards.

Some players are going to need new positions and others spend some time at Casey.

Anyone have creative idea's about who to move back?

Melk is one I would throw up...really needs to turn his career around.

Harmes may not be the best answer to our lack of pace off half back, but I'd make him accountable to someone FCS. He ran around so ridiculously loose again today. Probably our biggest downhill skier. 

I'd play him back there and see if he can generate some rebound. His decision making does worry me back there though...

Completely agree on the dropping of Lewis/Vince. They're not actually providing consistent leadership, so what's the point in having them both in the team? They're slow and they're both done.

It's unfortunately, another moment where our decade-long poor drafting is coming back to haunt us. We don't have leaders that are experienced enough that can play anymore and it's resulting in seeing blokes who are finished, still getting games, simply because they've got experience.

We were all over Hawks early and again smashing the inside 50 count but put zero scoreboard pressure on. 

Agree the ease of goals scored once they break through the press is diabolical

Spargo. The fact that I'm partially serious about debuting a 170cm forward in the back-line against the premiers on our biggest stage of the year is either a huge concern for my mental health or the state of our defensive unit - although the subjects are somewhat interrelated.

We need speed and tenacity down back, and he strikes me as kid you could give a specific job to against one of their smalls and he would go about it with a determined, singular focus. If not, at least he might bop Riewoldt upside the head.

Please note: I've only had one beer, but I've also never actually seen a second of wee Charlie play in my life.

Hilarious. You don't understand football and couldn't be more wrong. Why did Roos spend the first 12 months trying to teach the team about defence?

Which teams win Grand Finals? Richmond played 3 finals and let through 8, 5 and 9 goals in September.

Yet you think we can let teams score 80 points in a half of football with 20 scoring shots from 24  i50 entries like we did against Geelong?

It is an easy fix, our defenders are playing to high up the ground, the ball is coming out of our forward line that quick that as soon as it does we are done, a 50m kick clears our defenders we are scored against.  Jetta played the role last year as that last line of defense 20m behind the last forward.  This year he is running in quicksand.

We need to defend deeper, all teams are doing it against us basically having 4 defenders across Half Back we push ours forward of center when the ball is forward.  Mids need to work harder to defend between to 50m arcs and our forwards can't allow the ball to get out of our forward 50m so easy.

We play our best football one on one we are garbage when we are out numbered up forward, it worked a couple of times last year Adelaide game was the example but we are missing Tom McDonald who gives a good contest.

So many hear a passing judgement on Goodwin in his second year as a coach & I can understand the frustration as a member & supporter for over 45yrs. The same was said of Hardwick & continued to be question each year on his ability to coach & couldn't win a final & we all know how that worked out!

As frustrated as we all are & starved of success we need to allow Goody to iron out these gaps & let him be judged after he has served his term

Im sure there was plenty of Tiger supporters who wanted his blood at times....

Defence - If you are playing Oscar Mac and Frost as key talls and you have Hibberd and Lever as tall flankers then there is no role in the team for another tall flanker in Wagner. There is also no roles available for plodding ex midfielders ie Lewis and Vince. The role available is for a nimble and/or quick player.

Mids - You can't play plodding ex midfielders like Lewis and Vince on the wing. You can't even play Jones on the wing. Reality in 2018 tells us you have play ball carrying runners on the wing.

Forwards - Hogan is much better when on the move. Playing deep he is a non threat if the ball comes in high and he is flatfooted. Belongs at CHF.  Bring Pederson in to improve our structure by giving us a competitive target deep and relieve Gawn in the ruck.   

If Goodwin does not realise that we've got to pick a quicker team - epsecially for Richmond -  then my doubts will be chrystalising.

Sacrifice a medium small forward and make sure there's an extra at the around the ground stoppages at all times with at least two players on the outside (not as many going in like we have seen and our opponents outnumbering us on the outside waiting for the receive and running off).

Any time there's two goals scored go back to man on man until we wrestle it back our way and play possession football.

ACCOUNTABLE footy plus a smart man on man possession game once they get successive scores.  Extra number at stoppage.  Drop the 2 off the back of square and man up when Maxy isn't rucking or they are scoring!  It doesn't work under the above.

The fans often get the "short end of the stick",in other words we constantly getting screwed over. What I would like to see is that the no.1 draft goes to the worst side of the past three years. If the Dees finish 16th,16th and 15th in the last three years they will get first pick infront of a team that finishes 1st,1st and 18th. No team can trade out their first rounder.(for the Kiddy draft)  Players who wish to leave a club gets to go into a pool and can be picked up by the lower clubs,this will stop the top club from becoming stronger. example Dangerfield couldn't go to Geelong.His first port of call would be Brissy then G.C then the Blues or alternative remain a Crow. We need a different game plan because it is no point Gawn getting lots of tap outs if our mids don't do anything with the ball.
