Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Great game by Kent today. Lifted us in the first quarter with his tackle and goal.

He did a number of 80-100m gut busting runs to give an option today. Must have worked on his fitness because it really showed.

If he produces this form for the season he’s a lock for our forward line.

Would have felt like a bit of redemption for him too - it’s almost 12 months ago to the day against North where he shirked from a 50:50 contest running towards goal.

I may have a MySpace page still out there in the ether that I don't use. Maybe that might get us at least as far as the finals.

Very happy with the win this week. Looks like we got the side balance right, and after a shaky start, our defense with Frost and O.Mac in the key posts was very solid. Say what you want about O.Mac he was very good today on one of the best key forwards in the comp. Lever looked more confident playing as the natural third tall. He can play to his strengths, an elite intercept player.

Loved the mosquito fleet forward line, Kent finally healthy is an enormous talent to bring in. Max gave Goldy a bath absolutely no doubt the best ruckman in the comp once again.

When we get rolling, we can demoralize sides with relentless inside 50's. Although our conversion wasn't great, we really exhausted North they looked out on their feet. Tremendous work rate from our mids and forwards.

Bring on the Hawks

There was a time, many years ago, before Hogan, Petracca, Oliver, and the like were on the scene, when I thought Kent was our most likely young player to come on. He hasn't, but today is a taste of what he could have done had he worked harder as a young fella and had he gotten a bit luckier.

He still might turn into something yet. Truly the forgotten man, but no longer.

Just wish MFC had the balls to challenge the AFL umpires dept regarding Max. Being raped and pillaged by them. Does he really gives them too much "verbal" and their little "pea-brains" remember that and penalise him. Very frustrating to watch but not nearly as frustrating for Max to cope with.

And such a classy user of the ball. That snap around the corner from the boundary to hit Hoges in the goalsquare was sublime.

Gawn absolutely smashed Goldstein.

We killed them in centre clearances.

Harmes and Petracca in the ruck doesn't seem sustainable.

Kent played pretty well, as did Bugg.

Selections this week worked well.

ANB dropped at least 5 marks but otherwise played well.

Bernie and Lewis were good.

Nathan Jones was his usual warrior self and his kicking to the fwd 50 was magical.

Petracca is a beast and very hard to stop one on one.

OMac did well generally - Brown got a few frees and when the ball came in quickly he wasn't great but overall played a good game. Even Wagner played pretty well.

Salem was excellent in the clinches,

A very good overall team performance that was only let down by our poor composure in the 1st and 3rd quarters. 3rd quarter with 3mins to go we were 20 i50s to 5 and yet had only won the quarter by 4pts. A couple of late ones were very important.

Finally we beat those hacks. Very happy with that.

Big next two weeks, hawks and Toiges.

Lewis in post-match on-field interview. Knows the contested differential and centre clearance match statistics. What's going on there?

Also: Bernie Vince in change-rooms interview. All week we talked about our opportunity to break the losing streak.

You are obviously including the boundary umpire who paid out, when Harmes clearly marked it inside the line.

Umpire 26 should never get another game. Jono Brown summed it up well with " the umpires had a very bad game today ". Roos was pretty scathing and Eddie and Sandy said a few times they were stunned.

On the other hand we fought hard for a great win.

and..... nothing will change . Such is our lot.

UNLESS we say enough is enough. Just need to ask for fair assessment.

So we also need to give Goodwin credit, was clearly a different game plan that worked, using a small forward structure.

also just arrived back in Rome from Port Moresby yesterday, woke up to watch it with my beautiful French partner who helped celebrate... perfect way to watch the team song

If you’re trying to kick the ball while being pulled in a tackle the sling tackle should be thrown out the window. It’s the kicker creating the imbalance and momentum. Unless you knock em out cold, should never be looked at.

He will get off for the first time in 20 years the match review is  consistent at worst frost will get the same penalty as Sidebottom because it is  virtually the same action and outcome.

All I can say is Kent Kent, l have always loved the wsy he plays, when he puts everything into a game he is very  dangerous, I love it when he's in the side and inform. Buggs best game, if he  can kick straight every week he can kick 40 + goals. It was a master stroke dropping pedo he has just not been running hard this year,  my opinion about pedo is he easily gets complacent where he just doesn't put in, Kent was just  brilliant I just hope he plays the whole year with that aggression and that work ethic.

And I say suck eggs to all those negative posts on here and Facebook about team selections, it was just over the top and the negativity was disgusting, but I will say Tyson should have been in the side in round 1,that was a big mistake, but besides that the he team selection has been good.

Some really encouraging comments about players like Salem, Kent, Wagner and Bugg. Big lifts from that lower third of the side will push us up the ladder.

Hogan was epic. Saw him do multiple 50-60m runs to make position. 442m gained apparently in his disposals. Absolutely outstanding game.

This sort of performance is truly exciting.

Putting through 18 goals with Hogan only getting one whilst otherwise dominating up the ground is a really positive sign.

Sorry. Not particularly convinced. Seems some generic ideas worked. More some ingenuity of some players.

Im not really enamored by the Goody Game.

I finished school in '06 and started at the pig farm in April '07. Have been betting a 6 pack on every North game with my boss and obviously lost them all.

These are going to be the sweetest 6 beers of my life.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
