Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

not the problem but the lapses for entire quarters also raise questions about leadership.

Jones. Turn over king.

Jones. Can't hit targets.

Jones. Has no composure.

Jones. Just bombs long.

Jones. Bad decision maker.

Turn over king that cant hit targets? 76% disposal efficiency, one of the highest on the ground.

No composure and just bombs long? Only 10 of his 29 disposals were Kicks, 6 of them were Inside 50's.

People will keep seeing what they want though.

Golly was pretty harsh but jones was poor yesterday, particularly in the second q.

He makes too many bad decisions, which often are not picked up in the stats.

A good example was his stupid decision to kick to hannan at the top of the goal square in the 2nd q from just outside 50.

.Bombs it to a two on one contest, which unsurprisingly hannan loses, and the ball gets swept out of our 50.

He had time and some space and made the wrong call. He should of kept on running, got inside 50, and had a shot at goal.

His kick to hannan was not a clanger or turmover and would have  contributed positively  to his DE stat. But it was a poor choice and resulted in a turnover and a wasted forward entry

Worse analysis ever Joe! Obviously watched the game on TV and wasn't sitting in the crowd looking at the entire MCG!

Well, its always amazing how we can watch the same game and conclude differently.

I was at the game and agree with JBs comments.

I thought our composure really let us down yesterday. Too many times players threw the ball on their boot in a panicked fashion. We gave our forwards zero chance. Until this improves we'll be making up the numbers.

Agreed TK. Looked to me that they were looking to go long too often...where as Geelong seemed well drilled about taking the short option to set up space. Goodwin complained about us not being able to lock the ball in our 50 but its pretty easy to defend a long ball to a two on one or even a three on two. Which results in not only a wasted entry but also an easy set up for a geelong forward thrust. Which they punished us with.  Im no football genius but being at the ground that much seemed really obvious, and, given that tactic is hardly new to football, I have to ask why goody allowed it to keep happening for the entire first half.

You need to also understand where he gets a lot of possessions. Players who play deep in the guts often get more turnovers because they are kicking under a lot of pressure.

Jones is not the best kick in the world, but he is more than adequate. He was pretty good all game, and definitely the least of our worries.

If Geelong didn't have injuries during the game then I would say a 10 goal loss was possible.

They simply ran out of legs in the end.

Salem was severely limited after being tunneled by Selwood  was hardly sighted second half swings and roundabouts.

o--mac: weak and hopeless

harmes: tried hard, but limited

gawn: dominant, but no communication with mids

oliver & petracca: amazing (apart from the misses)

hunt: no good in tight

maynard: liked his aggression, but no footskills and not ready for afl

vince: played well

wagner: crappola early, got involved and got physical in second half. if he can do that all game, i can accept one or two miss-kicks

goodwin: coaching is a dynamic thing. adjust your strategy during a game bro

In my opinion Frost, Brayshaw and Tyson are best 22 without a doubt, for what ever reason they werent play well goody has to come out and explain why. Factor in Mcdonald and Viney thats 5 of our best 22 IMO not playing on Sun thats nearly a 1/4 of a side. Not excusing the performance it was terrible 1st half, 2nd better but far from our best especially 1.7 not going to win games with conversion like that.

There is more to come from this side its round 1 ffs, im not throwing in the towel like many clowns on here are grow a set peoples.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
