Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Dangerfield would be a massive blow for them, more than Viney for us.  I see Menegola is no certainty for Rd 1 either.  Stanley out will mean Smith will have his hands full with Gawn.

That is interesting and it must be time for us to play a spare ruck for Gawny to be capable across the whole game. He could kick us a few of his goals, too, thus occupying one of their key defenders or even two, and with our runners and allegedly new running game, that is another bonus. Hogan and Garlett, supported by Hannan, will have a field day! How is ANB progressing with Round 1 in mind?

I had no idea Crameri was even on their list.

With Lonergan and Mackie retireing, they will needed to move Harry Taylor back to the defence.

They needed another forward to replace Taylor.

They picked up Crameri as a delisted free agent.

He hasnt played consistently in 2 years (1 year ASADA ban). So it was a risk for them.

Look, I would prefer to beat Geelong and take the 4 points with their best team playing, but I’m not stupid enough to not be slightly relieved that their best player may not be playing. We aren’t that good that we can just laugh in the face of good fortune.

Regardless of whether he plays or not, I hope we come out there with the right mindset and not thinking we are gonna win because some of their best players are underdone.

I would rather wait and see if he is not playing against us. He might be playing possom as he should have been a soccer player. He  can pose and has played it up before  so will wait on the teams when he is not picked, even as an emergency.

I reckon I only knew he was delisted because he was making a few noises in the media about how he thought Melbourne could be a good fit, and I remember thinking "oh god, please no".  Turns out Goody and co agreed with me.

But all my thoughts will be on whether the Demons can avoid their infamous 'we got this' attitude.

If we can make the shift from 'we've got this' to 'we want this' we will become a very dangerous team.

Confidence is one thing, arrogance (particularly when we haven't achieved anything but mediocrity for so long) is completely unacceptable.

I want our boys to stay hungry and be ruthless 100% of the time.

Okay great. So he'll kick 6.0.

Never understood those who hope for the the oppo sides best players to be playing against us. Daft.

I just want to get the 4 points, and while I believe we can win the game against a full strength Cats, any star player out makes a win more likely.

Hoping Danger/Ablett and Selwood are all missing that day. Wont be celebrating any less if they are.

If Danger ends up being out I think that basically levels up us losing Viney (in terms of team importance). In fact I actually think Geelong rely on Danger a lot more than we rely on Jack, though Ablett could be the X factor on their side.

Its building to be a huge game.

Is it okay to be disappointed that Ruggles no longer plays for the Cats? Although I'm sure he's happier running free in his new home in the country.

All of you celebrating Dangerfield’s injury is just horrible.

I love it.

This is a guy that was complicit in Trengove getting 3 weeks for a sling tackle. Claimed concussion then came out the very next week to kick 6.

I hope it's a 6 week injury.

Forget about Dangerfield, Ablett or Selwood, it’s Hawkins that is the difference between us winning or losing.

Like Ben Brown, he completely owns the MFC. He always kicks his 5 or 6 against us.

and he looks as fit as he's ever been

however, if we can choke the midfield supply and force him to work up away from the goal line and outside their f50, i'm confident we can restrict his influence

o mac is super fit, and lever and hibberd read the play better than just about anyone in our side to offer defensive coverage, so - as always - it'll come down to the mids, particularly those at the contested coalface, which is where we have an advantage with danger missing

If Danger and Ablett miss it only gives an opportunity for some other players to come in that are hungry and willing to impress to keep a spot in the team.

They might not have the class of the above but they’ll sure have the determination to make it as difficult as possible for us.

We can only beat what’s put in front of us.

Geelong selectors will play cat (pardon the pun) and mouse with their injuries for the next two weeks. Don’t discount Dangerfield just yet.

Yes they will so don't include Ablett just yet, at best he will be underdone

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
