Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I hope he makes us pay bigtime for the ridiculous decision to trade him for near on nothing. He deserves success after the [censored] he put up with for a decade.

Or perhaps he should’ve kept his off field behaviour in better order!

The opposite of love isn't hate - its apathy - and I can see there is still so so soooo much love for Jack on this forum... keep kicking goals Jack, for you are the gift that keeps on giving!

And my own personal view is - 10 years into his career - Jack needed a change of team (environment, culture, coach, teammates) for him to give himself the opportunity to be more consistent. It was never to happen within the team of Melbourne - the factors that drive the inconsistent behaviours are well spoken about, from development and support, but its not MELBOURNE as an entity that did this, its a range of individuals over a decade, including Jack himself .

I loved JW playing for us and l bled when the FD did the dirty and moved  him on. Take it as you like.  l CAN GO ON AND ON. JW has moved on and we have to move together, support our club and stick fat.  It is over.  Lets hope that we have a good start Sunday and support the boys to a win. We have some excellent players and more depth than we ever had for as long as l can remember. Lets all enjoy the ride.

A typical Watts game...............

Two goals from left foot snaps, which is his bread and butter, and a goal from a free after he dropped a mark he should have taken

Re-writing reality?  An interesting summation of his 'skill set'.  I would have thought that he was better known for the accuracy of his set-shot goal-kicking with his preferred right foot and his ability to identify and find a target when under pressure.  Given that we have quite a few players who are unable to kick reliably with their preferred foot and are lucky to actually make contact with the ball off of their unpreferred, it's surely not constructive to try and create a false narrative.   This is as unhelpful as the 'Pedo is a spud' campaign and just casts doubt on your opinion.  Our individual biases are evidenced here but there's little point in trying to spin  the self-evident.

I agree.  My support will never change but that does not mean endorsing what I consider poor decisions by the Club (and there have certainly been a few over the 60 years I've been on board) or accepting the failure of the club to learn from their mistakes (again one or two).  Presidents, players, coaches, quacks come and go.  We don't.  In the meantime, I can't wait to watch the game tomorrow but I'm nervous!

A lot of people here are happy to see him do well. And honestly, I wish I was like that.

I hope this is as good as it gets for Watts at Port. I want to see a few stinkers and pooncey attempts at tackles like we had to watch for us all those dark afternoons at the g.

Determining whether or not trading Watts was the right or wrong decision shouldn't be measured against the quality of his season at Port. I'm sure the MFC knew Watts was a talented player and that he was capable of very impressive games like today's... they just didn't see that talent fitting into our success unfortunately.

The decision to trade him will be justified by the quality of OUR season and whether or not we take that next significant step to success.

Watts is going to have some amazing games because he's a great player, but if we see the improvement and success that this decision was expected to deliver, then letting Watts go might have been best (for both parties) after all.

Our club has made a descision I’m going to support the club and wish Jack all the best.

So many of our supporters are suffering from MFCSS this is the bigger problem for the club than I thought.

Kicking 3 goals against a bottom 4 side in a 50 point home game win is hardly an amazing performance.

But if Watts kicks 4 goals in a winning BOG performance at the SCG next week and we lose to Geelong and  Brisbane I'm seriously going to lose my [censored].

Serious question.

Do the Jack Watts soy boys think that those who wanted his sorry backside gone think that we never thought he'd play a decent game again ?

Do you really think that ?

Thank you in advance.

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim
