Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

JLT 2 - Logistics of attending

Hi

I was thinking of heading out to Casey for JLT 2.

Have never been to the ground before but I have heard various stories about car park problems etc. Also what are the viewing areas like.

Assuming a crowd of say 10,000 and it being a night game I am interested in comments by the regulars about logistics etc.

At least we should not have the winter wind/fog issue.

Cheers

I was there for a preseason game against the Eagles and getting out of the ground at the end was a nightmare as there was only one exit. Road works at the entrance did not help either. That was a few years ago so the situation may have improved.

I can't make it this year but will watch the game on TV.

Allow plenty of time to get in and out of the ground. There is a heap of parking, but you may have to walk a distance if you turn up close to the start time.

It can be easier to enter and exit to the east and travel the back roads back to Melbourne, rather than coming in from Cranbourne (although I've never been down there on a Thursday night).

The viewing areas consist of grassed areas on the hill around the ground and a row of metal seats around the boundary. The stand is usually reserved for the clubs / players. It's not a bad idea to bring your own camp chairs and set up at the top of the hill, or around the boundary.

I reckon the place is a nightmare, poor viewing unless you can get in the stand, congested parking, and usually a howling gale blowing to one end. I don’t bother anymore after several visits 5 or so years ago.

Thanks Earl .... you are really filling me with dread but I like the honesty.

I like going to VFL games ... went to about five last year but have never ventured out to Casey.

Those bacon and egg rolls do sound good though :D

I don't mind it at Casey because I live in the Frankston area and its only 25 mins away...I wouldn't park at the ground though as its a pain in the butt getting out unless you leave early....park in a side street in one of the estates and walk 10 minutes is my tip

I went a few years ago. We got there an hour before the game started and had to stand behind the goals facing the sun. It was 34 degrees and just packed to the brim. Getting in was a nightmare. Left at quarter time and went shopping at Chadstone. Never again.

Was there for last year.we got my brothers wife to drive and pick us up. It was very packed, but you can park your car down suburban streets if you don’t mind the walk. Maybe get there early as Casey is very populated.

Word of warning, AVOID the roundabout at Evans rd as it’s being closed over the weekends for works.

Wait, what?

You live in the remotest part of the globe (Frankston) and Casey is STILL 25 mins away?

Great Scott.

You would have to be great Scott himself to have the nads to attempt that journey.

Yep! I went to AFLX and by the time I negotiated public transport back from Etihad and all the associated stuffing around it was after midnight...way to NOT put on any extra trains on when the Storm were playing, concerts at Rod Laver etc

I live in Berwick so it is 15 mins from home and thus I have been there heaps of times. Been to all the girls games this year but won't go to the praccy match coz there will be too many people there.

If you are taking the monash freeway there don't go via cranbourne because the traffic ( especially exiting ) will be a night mare. Turn right and go to clyde rd which will take you to the monash freeway. When parking go to the back of the cricket ground. It only takes about 5 mins walk to the ground.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P
