Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Considering the Demonland medicos had him pencilled in to return in June, this is terrific news.

I must admit I'm surprised the Demonland medicos got it wrong, as that's never happened before...

let's not get ahead of ourselves. he hasnt started training with intensity yet and with tricky food injuries the road to recovery is mostly up and down even in succrssful cases. he will likely miss due to a hiccup once the loads increase as normally happens but doesnt mean he isnt on the right path. dont want him playing underdone in any case. there were enough issues with that last year with players coming back from injury and it cost us a finals spot

I'm with you 18 hundreds, ever since another good player from SA went down to a foot injury a couple of years ago , i don't mind if he doesn't play till June, as long as he's right to go......"full pelt"

spot on re trenners. club should have held him back. dave misson in action and the sports science team needed an overhaul years ago. one the last parts of our club still in the dark ages. will wait for trenners career to end to see if he rightly sues the club.

If he comes back too early and hurts his foot again I'll spew up.

If he comes back midseason and everything goes fine I'll forever wonder if we could have brought him back earlier.

That's absolute twaddle. You've no idea of the inner workings of the medical team.

Football is a team game - one man out means next man up.  Good teams/clubs can cover for a major out or 2.

We nearly got through to the the 1987 GF with 2 of our best players having very little impact (or no impact) at the business end of the season - injuries being the reason.

On top of that Peter Moore was also injured early in the season and couldn't get back into the side.

And just to add ... it's usually nothing to do with Misson or the "Sports Science Team" whether a player is over an injury or not. That's for the doctors and medics, and in Viney's case, much of this would have come from the outside specialists who did the foot op.

Misson's job is to make sure that IF the medics say a player is right to play, that he's fit, and to maintain fitness during injury and build it back up after.

lets shut this forum down then if we can't make an observation without being a paid employee. results are what count not inner workings. viney, gawn, watts all came back clearly underdone and it cost us finals. there no acceptable excuse for placed the career of our greatest player asset at risk

Gawn was 'gawn' for 10 weeks.  I don't exactly see how people are arguing that he was rushed back early.

You made a rubbish observation based on nothing but ill-informed speculation. You were called on it. That's how forums work.

Yeah, there's a difference between having an opinion and pedalling hysteria based on no facts whatsoever.

Have you thought that you might be being just a little precious about the club and the sports science team? Its never nice hearing / reading negative comments but in this case there are facts that warrant at least a review the department.

Perhaps I could have expanded on the fact early. Here are some without looking back at the year in detail.

1. viney, gawn, watts all came back clearly underdone

2. viney has had a secondary foot injury that places his career somewhat at risk

3. the team has stalled in the back half of the season for the 2 to 3rd years

4. Salem got a brick on his head and tyson injured himself in some macho SAS course last season to the point where the players bypassed the club to go to their players association

Viney has not been rushed back, you can't compare viney injury to trengoves injury, different parts of the foot, trengove was the nav bone which has little blood flow, the only thing that can go wrong is if viney is running wrong, which led to the new injury when his foot was landing differently after the releasing op, is his foot landing the correct way pre all injuries?

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim
