Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Are we ready for 580 Brownlow votes?

First game of the season and god has returned to the fold.

Our home game, and the G will be packed to the rafters with the riff raff from down the road, living in hope that all will be good again.

This single game may well define our season.

Beat Geelong with the 3 amigo's playing, and the competition will take notice.

And PJ will be more than happy with the gate takings....

We've got a more balanced and better team IMO and I'm confident we'll win.

That said... jeez that trio is possibly the best midfield trio ever assembled. Would've killed to have had even just one of those three play their career in red and blue!

As others suggest..round one is an absolute litmus test.

Our ground...big occasion ...defined able competition.

If we are who we now claim to be this should show what we're now able to do.

Win this...bodes well

Lose...catch up footy here we come.

Geelong Shmeelong. Dangerfield is a toss, Selwood is a ducking idiot and Ablett is just plain weird. Plus Harry Taylor walks like he has something in his butt.

I haven’t look forward to our opening game this much since 2013.

Although the media will spend the lead up into round 1 pretending we don't exist, I think we're a massive chance to upset the Cats.

I still remember our last encounter where we looked likely all day but ended up kicking 19 behinds. Although we fielded a reasonably good side, we were without Hogan, Lever, Hibberd, Brayshaw, Lewis and Gawn (who tore his hamstring before half time). Plus we were expecting to get our goals from Sam Weideman and a first gamer in Tim Smith.

Even with Selwood, Dangerfield and now Ablett in their midfield, their defence has lost Mackie and Lonergan. I'm not sure a backline led by Harry Taylor can contain the likes of Hogan and McDonald. Also, Motlop (although patchy in regards to form) provided some serious x-factor in their forward line and could add some dash to their midfield.

Saying that, I'm can't help but expect that someone like Wylie Buzza will slaughter us before fading into obscurity by the end of the season. Damn MFCSS

It’s certainly going to be an exciting game - win or lose - it will be a great contest!

Having said that, I’m hoping that Vince gets into Dangers head so that by hafl way through the first quarter, he’s dragged by the coach. Given the twos history, it’s likely to be a pretty scrappy affair early on, so whilst our big bodies (Bugg, Vince, Viney, Jones, ANB and Kent) are keeping the cats in check and wrestling, I hope our 2nd tier runners are smart enough to play on and give TMAC all the opportunities he needs to hurt them early.

By half time, GAJ should have suffered a chicken wing from Viney and Selwood might have dropped his head a little too low and one time too many, onto an oncoming Frost Gigas, unfortunately rendering him unconscious.

Our class will sort out the rest of the afternoon and then the fans of the defeated will commence their long, awkward and uncomfortable pilgrimage on the highway back to Geelong.

Sounds like the perfect weekend really, better get down there!

I haven't been to one training session this preseason.

I watched the women slaughter the Crows, I am now getting my hunger back. In the past preseasons I used to be exhausted by the time the season started. Now I will be fresh and ready to go the full season.

I will have a run next week at the AFLX. A good showing on Friday night should tune me up just right.

Go No. 5?  Can't think of his name???LOL

Well judged Barney.

Unlike your good self i haven't a oz of interest in AFLX...strikes me as an unnecessary distraction in one breath..a total vvankfest in another.

Happy for the lasses to fly our flag and enjoy their footy.

I'll be more involved with actually be interested when the REAL stuff starts... All dancing with sisters til then.

Go Dees....bring on season '18

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
