Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Not living in Melbourne, I don't really understand the Romsey comment, so I can only guess that it has something to do with the community in that part of the world.

Anyways, my preferred quote from the article is:   "The footy club is in a really good position and I am just loving every minute here, to be honest."  I know we've all heard it a dozen or more times, and in reality, what else, could he have said (?), but none-the-less it still warms my red and blue heart a tad.

PS  Please bring on the Maroochydore camp, so that we will have some real footy news to comment on.

Just additional incentive for him to win games so we get the odd Friday night game in 2019.

His home town is about 50 mins north of the Melbourne CBD, so he can scoot out of town and go see his mates/family/team play when he can.

I think the comment relates to our multiple Friday night games we are scheduled for....

Romsey/Lancefied is a beautiful part of the Macedon ranges.  BUT, emphasis is on Jake wanting to come home AND he chose us, being able to go to any Vic club. Bummers would have been more convenient.

The other aspect of the article is just how stressed his life has been last few months, yet he turns up to training early in peak condition.

Professional.  And only 21.

Unfortunately Sue, Collingwood or Carlton could go winless this year (what a delicious thought) and they’d get more Friday night games than us.

And Romsey’s a nice town, not too far from where I live.

Lol, just discussing this with my wife who grew up in and around Gisbourne/Macedon. Unfortunately, Romsey is the backwater of the area known as the ‘inbred’ kinda spot where there’s only four families but relative (pun intended) exponential population growth!

A little bit ‘Deliverence’.

No slight on Jake, though, what a get for MFC! Carn Dees!

I think one of the best parts of our recruiting of the last two years is that we got two blokes of high quality (though some of Jordie's on  field sniping might bring him down in some people's eyes) in Lever and Lewis. What's even better is that they wanted to come to us.

It shows we are no longer a cultural backwater like in the days of Beamer's biffs and bruises drinking sessions. I remember is throwing the shop at Luke Ball in 2009 and him bit wanting a bar of us. We got the usual suspects come out and tell us how it was such a huge mistake on his behalf as we had a way higher ceiling than Collingwood (Chortle). It just went to show that the place was rotten and Ball (and Judd before him) knew it.

These days the Balls come to us and not vice versa.

Lever's a good intercept marking 3rd defender that doesn't play on the number 1 gun forward if I recall at Adelaide. He'll hopefully be a great acquisition for our defence.

Now who take Hawkins in round 1? He slaughterd both McDonalds in our last meeting and I can't recall Frost ever winning a duel against a premium A Grade forward?

You can add to Lever and Lewis the recruitment of Melksham and Hibberd, too. Not because they were both superstars, but because they chose us and not as a last resort.

It's not just Hawkins, the big forwards always kill us. Daniher, Ben Brown, Grundy in r23, Roughead and the other bloke in the 23 for the Hawks who killed us this year (edit - O'Brien), Franklin who usually does a number on us.

I guess they're hoping OMac and/or Frost will come on in leaps and bounds this year and have faith that our midfield strength and zone defence will do the trick. We will still be vulnerable to the "one out" or get out long bomb to the big forwards though.

Most of those forwards do numbers on most teams

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

With no response from the beast to date, one can only assume it has gone to ground in respect

of the conclusive evidence, and exposure, as revealed by members of this forum, of the debauchery that occurs

in and around Romsey with the Manor being the central hub and gathering place of all the 2 headed,

wine swilling igor types, but have no doubt , it will be planning some sort of revenge attack on those who

seek to expose the true nature of all happenings in and around the area.

You have reason to be afraid.

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
