Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

The complainant hasn't made a statement as per Vicpol release.

I like everybody else on Demonland is in the dark on a lot of the details.

The female involved may have not even reported it, I have seen it happen before when what is referred to as the early complainant makes the report.

IMO it's best for all involved to just let it run its course

My understanding from all the various statements/press releases is:

MFC became aware of situation
MFC informed AFL integrity
AFL integrity informed Vic Police
Vic Police interviewed female involved
Female involved has not made a statement/complaint

Question - can the AFL integrity inform the Vic Police without the complainant consent (is this even ethical)

* Note the situation could be damning and worth being hung, drawn and quartered over; embarrassing (aka the rugby league player incident where the female took on a group but said no to one); or a fabrication (intentional or not).  Due process and respect must run it's course otherwise in each of these situations the victim (it differs according to the scenario) suffers even more.  We should show respect and not judge until the Facts are known (if ever).

not sure your chronology is correct

i got the impression the female first approached vicpol in a non-formal way, which started the chain of events

of course, may be wrong in this

so you want to play hypotheticals about "some truth",  "probable",  "in real trouble"?

life is not always neat, fair, or just in all situations to all concerned

let the process play out and don't torture yourself over something you know next to nothing about, and have no control over

this issue was (reportedly) raised nearly 3 months ago and as far as we know nothing has happened since

I'm not losing any sleep over this DC,  but if there was no substance to the allegation/s or as some would say "on the minor end of the scale", you would think we would of had either a statement from the club saying "nothing to see here move on" or an apology from the player involved. The longer this goes on lends itself to the thought that maybe something serious has occurred (obviously we all hope nothing has). As a paid up member of the club for many years I reserve the right to hypothesize on this matter with regards to a potential outcome the same as who I believe will be in our starting line up come round 1.

Amazing!

If all the people that commented "I'm not going to comment until something more comes to light" didn't comment we'd be at about 4 pages.

I don't know how anyone can do that work for a living - I've had to read some reports of things here and there in my line of work and even reading about what these guys deal with makes me sick. Respect to anyone who can do it full time.

My wife works in the same area but with children. I often hear some of the appalling stories.

We are not the Judge,Jury and Executioner as we wern't present during the incident.Remember when a 14 yr old called goodes an ape,it was funny how Lisa Wilkins partner Fitzsimmons got in on the act and told everyone it was un-Australian etc.Yet fitzy referred to a dark skin bouncer as a guerilla. To top it off fitzy tried to palm it off as a non racist remark. Personally some us are too sensitive for our own good, you see apes and guerillas getting upset  we refer them to homo sapiens!!!!!!

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim
