Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Just listened to the segment. I thought Wallace was absolutely spot on, but for some slightly curious inclusions and omissions in the best 22.

Interesting that he said 'Jack Watts? I personally would've kept him, but it won't hurt the club long term'. Despite the 1 billion posts on that topic here, I think that pretty well sums up that trade perfectly.

Spot on...nor the short term either...

Melk was brilliant in his new forward role.  Was a masterstroke from the coaching staff. He even has the 6th longest steak in the AFL for consecutive games kicking a goal (12 games).

Wallace at least confirms that there is a 'silly' season and we must assume that pre-season is that moment. Even the Ox was a little flabbergasted by Wallace's selections. Weidemann at CHF - what a misaligned judgement! Oscar at fullback again would be criminal.

In - Pedo, ANB

Out - Weidemann, Harmes

I'd expect an interchange of Melksham, Salem, Lewis and Tyson.

Other than that, it's a pretty strong team.

I love Bernie but he will have to have a big preseason to earn his spot in the 18.  he has lost a yard but mostly his decision making has taken a hit which is mostly a mental issue.

i have him between 19-26 spot at the moment

Would love to know the basis for the inclusion of Weideman.

Let's be honest he has shown little at VFL level and the jury is firmly out as to whether he will make it.

What worries me is that a so called "expert" is so ignorant of our players strengths and weaknesses. Suggests that we are very low profile.

Nah...Terry often says himself that the fans usually know more about their own club than he and other experts do.

Mainly because we watch and take in every little detail.

He has to cover off 18 clubs, I wouldn't take it as a slight on our club or profile...

I've been reliably told that they're planning their preseason around Weideman in the 22.

Obviously things can change and it will be dependent on form, JLT, etc., but the plan is for Weideman to be in the team.

How on earth can there be so much discrepancy ....

I think the 22 they have named is out dated. I think the days of three talls up forward are probably gone unless they are super mobile.

Id say tommy and hogan are our key targets while fit and weid will eventually reach the point of pushing for a spot. It shouldn’t and won’t be gifted.

Alex Neal Bullen will be one of the first picked for the side

i agree with Lewis and dom Tyson being right on the fringe. I suspect both play round one but need to play well to stay in the side

Starting to look like a bit of a decent side ‘ on paper’ and if they all play to their best we are a show, although I haven’t seen much from Weideman yet.

How much gym work (both cardio and weights) is he doing? Watching him last year, he makes an effort to do the one percenters off the ball but can’t take pack marks due to lack of muscle and can’t get to contests ala Riewoldt because he hasn’t developed the tank yet.

I could see him potentially in the 22 but on a flank or in a pocket. Body wise he has work to do.

I'm going to take your word for it but this stat sounds rather iffy.

I double checked it, yep.

Not only did he kick a goal in every game from round 12 on, but he kicked 2 goals or 3 goals three times each!

21 goals in 12 games is a pretty handy contribution!

An optimistic plan I would think.

However, as I posted on another thread, Weideman is a real wild card, If he comes on, our forward structures have a new flexibility and will be very difficult to man up on.

The pre season will be interesting.

Weideman, Hogan and McDonald all forward doesn't work for me.  And I have reservations about Weideman, but clearly they rate him internally.

Having made the decision to recruit him [Weideman] it would be difficult not to keep persisting with him - but it is most likely that the development he needs to make as a forward for us can only be gained with specific training and Casey time of an extended duration to be mirrored in his performance.

Agreed, but if he comes on do all 3 of him Hogan and TMac play foward?

I wouldn't mind seeing Hogan roam up on a wing and float foward a bit like Watts' best games, imagine trying to match up on that?

Levercutting off fowa d entries for fun, Hibberd and Hunt playing off their man with Hogan and Petracca delivering long 1-1 to TMac or Weid

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
