Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

He was a favourite of mine when he was with us, but he needs to be removed from society for a decent amount of time.

His continual offending shows that he is not willing to be a law-abiding citizen. Does he think is above society and expected rules and behaviour that apply to the rest of us not apply to him?

Maybe prison will force him to change his habits. I doubt it, but at least for a certain amount of time, there won't be any victims as a result of his poor and selfish behaviour.

Never been a victim of crime Red? I doubt you’d be as sympathetic if so. He’s a grown man who has made poor choices, no sympathy here. I’ll direct my sympathy towards the victims of Colin’s crime.

Yes I have been a victim of crime.

Agree he has made poor choices as I said, I just tried to find a reason.

If you want have sympathy for the victim of the crime, then as the bank will usually cover fraudulent card use, your sympathy belongs to a member of the most crooked group of institutions in the business world, the banking industry.

It’s still a huge inconvenience for the initial victim of the fraud. Colin couldn’t have cared less about the inconvenience which he caused them.

Well this is actually a poor argument RL. It is not a victimless crime or as you seem to portray 'the big ugly banks'.

Yes in many cases the bank will reimburse the credit card holder but not always. And a lifetime of trust that goes because some numnuts steals your belongings takes a lot longer to get over.

You also have the merchants , who in this case are ladies of the night. They do not receive the money for services rendered as the banks rip the money from the merchant account. What about their rights?

There is also the possibility that the persons identity is now in the hands of nefarious people and identity theft is a much more sinister enterprise that in some cases you cannot resolve and causes a lifetime of pain as someone takes loans out in your name etc.

It's hard to have sympathy for someone in Sylvia's position. Personally I have none. It's probably a good thing that you do but I am with ET on this one.

Yes. If you ring Visa to say that the David Jones $100 bill on your credit card is not yours they say "No problem TPF39, we'll take that off your account". They also withhold the money from David Jones. So DJ's lose the goods.

DJ's then have to prove it was the legitimate owner of the card that purchased the goods in order for them to get paid. If they can't do that they lose.

Its why Visa, Mastercard and the banks cound't care less about CC fraud. They don't lose a cent.

Only this week Allianz and Suncorp were ordered to pay about $64million back to defrauded clients. Some great institutions there as well.

As to the Swiss they keep great time and are great footy sponsors.

Most if not all clubs have programs in place to encourage players to study in preparation for life after football. I know many Demon players are at university or studying part time at a tertiary institution so that the transition to civilian life will be made as seamlessly as possibly. However a few slip off and into trouble, but I think there are fewer and fewer of that ilk.(For instance, Big Max is already set on becoming the worlds best barista)!

I feel sorry for Sylvia but cannot dismiss as trivial what he has done. Would a “Sylvia” be recruited by the MFC today? I doubt it!

How did he steal the customers credit card # at Renault?

Does he work there now?   Did he steal it off a computer while he was there looking for a car? Crazy stuff.

Had to laugh that he spent some of the stolen money on 'pornography' though...  I know hes a bit of a dodo but the internet is pretty popular these days, very easy to use and the free porn is endless (so @Ethan Tremblay has told me anyway),

You would make a great Social Worker.

Col is not a bad man from what I know of him, just not too smart. I think the problems he has had post footy, including his realationship with an ex girlfriend, have got the better of him and he is making poor choices. He is probably not in a good state of mind at the moment and I hope he gets some help and gets his life back together.

He was exactly the same when he was playing footy.

Anyone using my credit card ? to gamble with, an buy a root can get F...

what’s he going to do, pass on the winnings?

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
