Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Their supporters are going to be insufferable if they win this.

And I'm not talking about the other mob

I'm surprised people continue to underrate them. They win out of defense, and their midfield pressure is elite. That's where you win flags. And to think people are crying about Watts being traded ffs.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Absolutely. But if Watts does go, i want a good player

otherwise he stays

he is an elite kick

Hence why I want the Crows to win.

If you think they will be as gracious as the Doggies last year, you are kidding yourself.

Crows are a liability when the ball is up forward, Jenkins and Walker are having no impact.

Tiges on the other hand, their back line is standing up and their midfield is slightly ahead. Their mosquito fleet are putting on the pressure both on the Crows and the scoreboard.

Tigers will run away with this if Pyke can't fix their forward problems.

Crows need to play the corridor and rely upon their superior skills.

They are falling into the same trap as GWS last week and playing the boundary which allows Richmond the easy stoppage.

Why play their scrimmage style

Terrible second quarter by Adelaide.  Could not score a goal.  Walker, Lynch and Jenkins needto lift big time.  Done nothing.

Spot on DJ and those Adelaide talls are looking like the Parthenon columns.

Crows gone unless Tex steps up.

They've been poor up forward.

Expect it of Jenkins, I don't really rate him...watch him win them the game now that I've said that.

...but seriously he plays like a rover in a big mans body. Looking for the crumbs.

Not too far away from my 39-36 score prediction for half time. Still too close to call the game but Tiges pressure did lift in the 2nd quarter.

Houli and Sloane have been very, very good.

I still see the Crows winning from here.

A major selection fail by Adelaide. What were they thinking taking that big cumbersome forward line into a day that was always going to suit a smaller set up, weather wise. Walker, Jenkins and Lynch have been useless. Thanks Don, now we'll have to put up with at least a month of turdmond supporters

I want Adelaide to win for several reasons, but the main one is that I'd much prefer a skilful team to win than one that relies on relentless pressure.  I don't want to see endless scappy football because everyone decides that is the way to win premierships.

PRESSURE PRESSURE PRESSURE.

Forget about the free kicks. Our game against the Bulldogs should set the standard. Manic pressure.

Any nuffies that can't chase, lay a tackle, or compete in packs needs to be shown the boot. Two years in a row now we're seeing a team with a flag drought absolutely dive on the ball like a live grenade.

We can't even lay a tackle in the first 10 minutes of the most important game of a decade.

Today pisses me off.

It shits me too.

Two things come to mind.

First, we started rebuilding at roughly the same time as the Tiges. I remember many Demon supporters were claiming victory as the better team one year into the rebuild. How has that worked out? Trengove delisted, Scully gone and Watts about to join him.

Secondly, I wonder if there was a 'Dustin Martin' thread when Dusty when he was exploring his options?

I am betting that it was the usual 'PASS' along with a ridiculous overrating of our list.

I am with @praha. The Tiges are winning this with straight up pressure. When it comes down to a meat and three veg game (as Goody calls them), we insist on caviar.

I bet at the end of this match that the in-house jokers on here will still refer to 'Ninthmond', like they do with 'Carltank' (like we never did anything resembling that?)

Exactly it’s why I don’t understand the hate getting around about watts being traded he is the opposite of this, get what we can and move on the game has changed, pressure will win you games

Crows are just bombing away, they need to lower their eyes (sounds familiar). Interestingly Adelaide have the ruck dominance but are losing it in the midfield. They need to find a way to get Walker into the game.

Tigers definitely getting the rub of the umpires.

Half time already and it's a case of the frees they, the maggots, haven't given. What will happen this next half is, because Adelaide will become tentative and not take the game on, because of the yellow maggots, then, it will be all over.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
