Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I can honestly say I don't mind which team wins, I have nothing strong for or against either.  I'm still looking forward to the match though, as I think they both play an entertaining brand of football.  If I had to guess... I think Adelaide may have too much fire-power up forward, but can definitely see the Tiger's running, pressure game getting them up.

Adelaide by 8 goals. Once the fantasy is put to bed, Crows will put them to the sword. Punt road will run red.

Well done Tiggies for getting there.

The game will be tight, hard and fierce up to half time, something like 36 - 39 points. Lots of smashing in bodies, big tackles, no space and turnovers from pressure. After that, either the skill of the Crows of the forward pressure of the Tigers will win out. One of the teams to win by about 40 points.

I still reckon that Adelaide is a 4 goal better side than any other team, including Richmond who I have rated all year.

Adelaide by something like 40 points.

Norm Smith medal. M Crouch

First goal. J Caddy

I will want to leave the state for 6 months if Richmond win. Having sat in the Cheer Squad many times I can say that Richmond and Essendon have the most unpleasant fans in the league.

Going for Richmond for no other reason than it'll give me a chance to draw the tipping comp I'm in.

Think the Crows will be too good by more than 5 goals.

Some of the scheduling hard-ships Richmond have faced this year:

An 8- and a 9-day break in the first five rounds.

Consecutive 6-breaks on one occasion:  with a resultant walloping by Adelaide and a defeat to the Dogs.

A nasty travel schedule of Brisbane and then Adelaide within a one-month block.

Go Crows.

Lets hope the umpires don't decide who wins this year.

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/afl/afl-grand-final-fair-go-for-all-from-the-umpires-at-the-mcg-please/news-story/dd26db5f59740617c8e4847d13e5294b

The league were embarrassed to the point that then-acting AFL general manager of football operations Mark Evans rang Sydney chief executive Andrew Ireland on the Tuesday after the match to apologise for the umpires costing the Swans four goals. The winning margin blew out late to 22 points after the Bulldogs kicked the final two goals in time on of the final quarter.

Kept quiet at the time but quite damning.

The dynamics are the same this year: i/state club vs a Vic fairy tale story.  I fear for the Crows' chances if the umpires fall for the fairy tale again.

I hope they either get a jolly good flogging or lose, in controversial circumstances, by a point.

I shall put a bit of hard earned on the Adelaide to win by over 40.

Hate richmond with a passion.

I can see someone like Richard Douglas popping up with a 4 goal 20 disposal game and winning the norm Smith.

Adelaide by 24 points...

Close until the last 10 minutes and junk time Jenkins will come to the party

I also dislike Richmond with a passion. Hope Adelaide thrash them. Went to work yesterday (had to drive through Richmond unfortunately) and all I saw were Richmond flags and posters and Richmond supporters dressed head to toe in yellow and black. (Doesn't anyone in Richmond have a job??). I almost wanted to puke. I do not understand the love for Richmond.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
