Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

So what is that reason?

Actually, it doesn't matter.  If it's good enough for Footscray to get rid of one of their "guns" and for teams like Hawks to say "no thanks" it's a good enough reason for me.

How many times has a player of Stringers talent has been so savagely dumped by his club.

There is a reason Davey and you'd do well to ponder it.

Ok so you cant provide a reason.

Clarkson ruled the Hawks out because they have no first round pick - his words not mine. He spoke very glowingly about Jake.

Wow... That's not patronising.

Stringer is a boom or bust.  Worth the risk only if whatever his issues were could be dealt with without damaging the psyche of the list.   The younger list probably the greater the risk.

Why would we want to get into a bidding war on Stringer when there is a 190cm, 40 goal a year forward available down the highway that you could get without giving up a single pick?

I'd be taking the best offer for Watts and replacing him with Menzel.  You don't go backwards on field, and you pick up a 2nd round pick to help in Lever/Gaff deals.

So we give up one player, perceived for his laziness, for another who has the worst pressure rate for a forward in the competition?  Makes little sense to me.

Menzel is a huge injury risk. Gaff where is this coming from? Gaff you would be mad to touch this year.

Stringer AA player, premiership player, 50+ goal forward, working on his tank for more mid time - his situation has been totally stuffed by Dogs. Big opportunity if you where prepared to be bold & ruthless.

There will be no bidding war for Stringer - he will nominate and you can bet your last dollar PC will get a deal done.

But there is a reason isn't there Davey, otherwise the Dogs wouldn't be getting rid of him.

Not according to Clarko he would be more than happy to get Hawks in the mix had it not been for lack of early picks. Listen to what he said video is online.

I agree DD

No downside its exactly sort of risk this club needs to take to fill holes in the list at little upfront cost

Its worth the risk IF he doesn't cost too much, because of the risk of attitude.

We can get him, but we don't want rotten fruit, going off in the Summer sun.

We need hard workers, or he can rot, over summer.

Bulldogs have absolutely stuffed this up - Jake is no alter boy but I think him and Petracca rotating between mid-forward is lethal.

I think Bevo knows exactly what hes doing.

I think he's working to plan. He would have thought about this for the whole second half of the season.

It seems he's setting Stringer up to succeed, elsewhere.  With the biggest public kick in the Ego, he's ever had.

this will only make Jake work harder when he finds a new home.

Bevo will not, let him back into the kennel.

That would be a message for disaster, for all at the kennell.  A free ticket to party like its 1999.

I've just been told a fairly good account of what's been happening at the kennel this year from a fella who is very good mates with a Dogs employee.

All I'll say is that there's more than one problem child among that list and the players seem to 'get around' other players sisters and ex-partners quite a bit. That coupled with a certain group of players more concerned with other income streams than the one from the WB's has caused a helluva lot of issues and gives a good indication of why there appears to be a lack of communication between players and FD/club officials. The sort of stuff that needs to be kept under wraps let's say.

Stringer has indeed been made a scapegoat - mainly because he was the worst at 'rebounding' from leisure activities and thereby failing to perform during games.

Based on some of the finer details I listened to, I very much doubt the MFC will go looking at Jake STringer.

I've heard similar to Steve McQueen-something to do with JJ ,Stringers ex, or some such.

I don't usually deal in salacious gossip and speculation-I much prefer pure slander and unsubstantiated rumours or outright libel.

And the AFL turns a blind eye to it all!!

While different to GWS/GCS, Bulldogs are just another AFL darling!  Not good for business out west, if any of the players get 6 week holidays!

Exactly and that is all it is - nudge, nudge, wink-wink gossip and speculation. If it was true no need to hide it. It can only be libel if its untrue hence why McQueen needs to hide it.

So no reliable source has been pre-pared to put in the pubic domain a reason why he is not recruitable. Bulldogs have stuffed this up.

The thing is  Mr Dee   unless you know something 100% ...back to front and upside down and  incontrovertibly as fact then you are well appraised to remain schtum !!  Venture out from that and you'll find yourself pushing up daises before you get out from under the debt of litigation.

I'm sure  a lot of us know  more than a few pieces of a jigsaw... but maybe not the whole picture. I certainly don't .

You obviously do otherwise you would have printed it and put it in the public domain? PM it to Wiseblood and get him to put it online.

The use of this or any other reputable forum gives clear instructions on how it can be used and what may happen if someone ventures into the realms of slander and such - take the time to read the pinned posts regards this.

If I post anything specific - true or not - the mods would be all over it like a rash, I'd be banned and you'd miss my excellent contributions.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
