This is Goodwin and Viney's club now. Couldn't be happier. Picks Shmicks. We got the biggest fish available in trade time.

Only really disappointing thing is that we lost next year's first rounder. But we'll still come out ahead with Lever. The kid is unbelievable.

Watts time was done, it's that simple. We have things to achieve as a club and Watts wasn't going to help us.

Onwards and upwards. Well done dees on having the gumption to make an unpopular choice. We're locked and loaded for the next 3 years.

Wow, so port only offered half his salary.

Pick 31 is overs by the sound of that.

Before this becomes accepted as fact, would you care to explain your arithmetic?

Good luck to Jack at Port. I'll be watching Port games, hoping he plays well, and that he gets to experience finals.

Market value is what the market'll pay. Jack is 26, played 150 games and should be coming into his prime. He is on the market and only 2 clubs show interest, one of which, Geelong,  shows only lukewarm interest. That is the footy industry telling Jack what they think he is worth, and its less than the market value his talent warrants.  He is the same position as Menzel, who scored 40 goals this year, but seems likely to have to accept a one year deal with a pay cut at the Cats. The lesson is simple. What do you do when you don't have the ball is as important as what you do when you have the ball. Both Jack and Daniel have ample skill with ball in hand, indeed they have more skill with ball in hand than a few of the Richmond Premiership forwards, but they don't match their intensity when they don't the ball.

Good post right up until the last sentence.

I think he’ll apply himself adequately for Port and play most games. Impact-wise, about the same as MFC.

The last sentence, and your post, are both merely guesswork.

I feel like he won't apply himself, he'll do for Port what he did for us, and they won't tolerate it, just like we were unwilling to do.

Pretty content with this trade. Wasn't for it initially, but I simply can't understand those that are dead against it. He's given us very little over the journey and it doesn't look like changing much.

The only thing I can think of, is that some are worried that he'll go to Port and turn it around, proving beyond doubt that we aren't up to developing talent. This will not be the case.

He'll probably only play 6 games for Port and go the way of Sylvia.

Outside of the 2nd half of this year he has been one of our best players of the last 2 years. He is one of the best kicks in the team and when he is on we are a  better team for it.

Exactly how is this a good trade? To borrow a pun I think he will "light is up" at Port, can easily kick 30 goals.

Jack has been one of our best? That is pure fantasy my friend, or failure to understand the game. Sorry.

How many licks by Lil’ Kim might be more appropriate. I believe it’s about licking an arm.

A fresh start is likely to offer some change of behaviour. Whether it’s sustainable is the question that most of us already know.

It's going to take a while for that to fully click into gear. I'd say some posters on here will be knitting Jack jumpers and mailing them over the Adelaide for at least 6 months..

It is a fantasy that the FD's voting in the B&F seem to have believed over the window Jibroni quoted.  Maybe they changed their minds for all sort of reasons, but you can't just dismiss it as you have.

Jack Watts sent packing!  for Pick 31.  F me!

At the start of the year I said to a mate that the worst thing that can happen this year is that Collingwood will knock us out of the eight in the final round  and both Howe and Dunn will be playing.  The next worse thing I said would be that Watts (because Goodwin and he wont work)would be dealt at seasons end.  So all in all, the end of my footy season has been gut wrenching.

This will [censored] me for many years.  In the same way it would [censored] me if I lost a good watch.  Or accidently run over my trusty, loyal, resilient dog.  The only medicine that will heal will be a premiership before Port Power.  So get cracking all you coaching staff and FD gurus who don't see Jack Watts as an important asset to a footy team, make me believe.

Come on Melbourne!

If that is bad, wait until you see the video of Goodwin strangling a puppy.

Or maybe they knew at that stage that Jack had already chosen Port Adelaide.

Jack... maybe they didn't really want you.

Chewy if they wanted him they would have got him (pending Ablett $$). He would have kept there window open and made them a better side.

As it stands at the end of 2017 he sits 51st in total games played and 48th in total goals kicked for MFC. Thanks for your service Wattsy and I wish you the best at Port.

don't forget where is was ... in the count before he was injured this year.

- the "he was 6th in the counting before he was injured" claim has never been substantiated

- it ignores other players who missed games early in the season, thus suppressing their vote (e.g. Hibberd, Lewis) and placing Watts higher than he otherwise would have been

- it ignores average votes per match over the whole season

- selective and smaller sample sizes (e.g., half a season) can produce outlier and unrepresentative results (both too high and too low)

- it illustrates exactly what the FD have been saying about Jack's inconsistency

Anyway, he's gone.

HF -  Salem  -  T McDonald  -  Petracca

F  -    Hannan  -  Hogan   -  Garlett

Move Salem forward to replace the only good thing Watts did,  deliver the footy.

We wont miss him at all.

I wish Jack all the best thank you for your service but the MFC have officially made a statement with this trade and the Lever trade a new leaf has been turned this is #Deetime now.

Is the trading of Jack the precurser of the announcement of a new sponsor?. Expect to see Cheap as Chips on the back of our jumpers. This was a poor decision and probably the worst trade in history.
