Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

And stigga this is the problem with watts, & with too many around the club.

He wants to be around, for where others carry the club too.

He doesn't want to miss out on all the festivities, If or when.  He is not a lifter, he is a leaner.

His mindset should read, "I am going to shape this club towards winning and success.

He just wants to be at the party with the boys.

These young men have hardly had a life

I observed a young T Cloke growing up and watched him as his spirit, creativity and sense of fun disappear, as his footy consumed him 24/7

This could be JW's version of teenage angst

To me it looks like Jack would prefer the Cats, but they are playing a game saying they can't get the deal done. We have obviously asked for their 20 and they have refused.

Port has made him an offer and we would accept their 29.

If Jack says Port the deal will be done instantly.

I think the Cats have told him to hold on, to see if they can bluff us, or find out the Motlop compo.

If we hold firm I think we either get 20 from the Cats or 29 from Port.

;)

Just interested to know how many of those that would trade Jack for his off-feild behavior would have sacked Oliver after his drink driving at the start of the season and how many of those still would now.

Oliver is the hardest trainer at the club, never stops trying on-field. JW, well....the opposite.

What does his latest Instagram post suggest? Seems to be Sandringham with the caption "nothing has changed, see you soon".

If he doesn't nominate a club, does he stay?

I've got the feeling he doesn't really want to go interstate, but might go to the cats who can't satisfy us with pick 20, so still a chance to stay in my book.

Too much corporate claptrap.

He needs to lay more tackle, chase harder and help creat turnovers instead of being a receiver.

Simples

According to the stats (yes the stats can be misleading at times) he’s actually not as bad as we think with his tackling and pressure acts.

I feel the clubs biggest frustration with him is his performance levels being so extreme. When he’s bad he’s a liability but when he’s on he’s our link man delivering the ball on a platter for others. The other major frustration (if I’m reading into what’s being said here and in the media) is that he doesn’t take ownership of his standards outside the club. The coaches and leadership group have spoken to him about it but it sounds like he shrugs them off. Nothing concrete has ever been confirmed about his pre-season this year but clearly he wasn’t up to standard.

If he stays (and I should say I’m one that would like that) then those areas will need to be his focus. If only there was a way to imprint Viney’s hunger and attitude onto Watts’ mind!

And there's good stuff, too....

Absolutely & I love JW's good stuff but we are trying to build a culture and set standards and the FD & LG have identified that he's a problem.

Nearly right, have opinions on players, don't always share them, but in this case

Watts, agree with FD , for whatever reason is not where he should be in terms of consistency of performance after 9 years and can understand where Goody is coming from

If he goes, he goes, 22 make a team, support whoever is on the field in that 22 representing the Red and Blue

I find most threads amusing, some of the unintended hilarity is breathtaking

I was in the intended hilarity yesterday, and last Friday week day....

Just saw the same thing... Not sure what it means, might have reference to the girl tagged in the photo. Hopefully it's cryptic for him staying

Actually yes on one occasion. But I'll back the FD and LG in here in regards to JW

So he's trained poorly on 'one occasion' in the last nine years! Obviously needs to be traded for whatever we can get otherwise his standards might be contagious!

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
