Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

This makes no sense to me, mate. Why not leave him on the list for another year if we want to play him at Casey? Paying out his contract means we only free up a list spot, but not cap space.

We re-signed him, we stick with him for the moment. Besides, there are others I'd delist before him.

This might make sense to you.

He was not in our best 22 before he did his ACL. Now a year older and not having played for a year, coming back from a reco, he will probably not be best 22 again.

By freeing up his spot on the list, we have a chance of finding a 10-12 year player.

You don't keep players on your list just to play at Casey.

Someone is selling the farm for Kelly. Saints trading theirs away? FMD, as if GWS deserve another 2 first rounders on top of everything else they've been gifted

They might not deserve more top picks, but we are talking about them possibly losing a player one club has offered $10.5m to. He is one of the best in the AFL and wouldn't go cheap. So and my mail is he will stay for 2 more years, if GWS lost him they would deserve a good deal.

Kelly will likely go if the Giants dont make the Grand Final. Way off it tonight!

Saints will pull the trigger and trade Picks 7 & 8 for Kelly & Pick 25.

I would think the Saints have cap space to fit him in.

He won't go to Saints.

I have often pondered about the use of the ignore option Saty. I've seen posters say they're putting someone on ignore but respond to them a short time later.

There are even misguided souls who have ignored my wise utterances.

I wonder who holds the distinction of being the most ignored on Dland?

Sorry i was ignoring you, what did you say again?

Love the Fish Creek reference Franky!!!

We're in the grand final today against Toora and should get the job done (finished 5 games clear with a % close to 290).

There are a couple of guys in the team that would not look out of place in the AFL. Namely Cal Park. One of the McGannon boys might get drafted this year too. Tommy Cameron is an absolute champ. Gotta love country footy.

Pumped for a big day, fire em up Reg, bring it home Fishy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whats with the RIP Alberton Football League DD ?

I spent some of my best years of my life getting the Tarwin Sharks off and running in the Alberton League

I also remember when a certain prominent member of the Foster business  community adorned her business in the Toora colours

Not necessarily the smartest move but nonetheless highly committed against Foster in a GF

For those who can't get behind the pay wall here is a summary of Denham's story:

  • the only high-profile players Tom Rockliff, Steven Motlop and Jackson Trengove left in the FA pool.
  • UFA Daniel Menzel may also want to move after being shunned against Richmond
  • Adelaide are almost certain to lose Lever.  Melbourne leads Collingwood for him.
  • Kelly must decide to accept a $10 million long-term deal to North or remain with the Giants for less money in the short term. Others: Carlton, St Kilda and Essendon, are now out of the equation.
  • Devon Smith appears highly likely to play at another club next year
  • Jake Stringer is out of favour at the Western Bulldogs and will play elsewhere next year - St Kilda and Collingwood are sniffing around and Richmond are poised
  • Other premiership players on rocky ground at the Dogs, who will field interest from clubs on contracted players including Luke Dahlhaus. Watch this space on that front.
  • Mason Cox appears on the move north, where Brisbane have offered a four-year deal.
  • Ty Vickery for two years backfired and they would be willing to let him go, along with Duryea.
  • Gold Coast will let go of Brandon Matera, who plans to head home to Western Australia.
  • If West Coast want additional draft picks to rejuvenate an old list, they will need to trade out one of two contracted players. They would sacrifice Chris Masten, if there are any takers, but he is contracted for another two years.
  • And that’s just the start.

Denham has good sources so there is a good chance these will come to pass.

From MFC point of view:  Winning the race for Lever.  Not in the race for Kelly or Stringer.  No mention of Gaff.

Some clubs and various commentators have said that this year will see a lot of contracted players change clubs.  A few surprises ahead...

Afraid you are right.

Things are going well for Tigers.

No injuries and with seniors playing last night,  means they have the entire rest of the list to use today.

Unfortunately I see Casey going out in straight sets.

Would love to be wrong however.

Had my first bet in about 15 years on the biggest certainty I can recall in footy, WC to beat Crows in last round.

A mate of mine who was on the field during the game said you could see that the Crows just didn't care.

Anyway we threw it away and no point hoping for others to get us in finals. Just got to get the wins in future.

Seems it's not very stable down there at the kennel. If Dahlhaus is looking to move, we should go hard for him. He's just turned 25, so good age bracket for us. Hard running quick midfielder who likes to kick and bobs up with goals regularly. He finds a decent amount of ball too, averaging mid 20s disposal-wise over the past 4 years. He'd be a good option to help balance our midfield, and comes with premiership experience. Has his name been mentioned in any other rumours? Kelly is not a realistic option, but Dahlhaus might be and would fit our needs perfectly IMO.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
