Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I can't put you on ignore either, I love reading the tablets of stone you send down from the top of the mountain, to us mere mortals who bask below in the eerie glow of your far superior footy knowledgei

Thank you Akela

I have often pondered about the use of the ignore option Saty. I've seen posters say they're putting someone on ignore but respond to them a short time later.

There are even misguided souls who have ignored my wise utterances.

I wonder who holds the distinction of being the most ignored on Dland?

I have had you ignore for ages bitter. And i usually don't look at your posts. But i just did. And it wasn't so bad. So i'll take you off ignore.

Ironically enough you quoted Saty. Who i also have on ignore. I'll keep him there.

Steve i would never ignore you. Way too much fun reading your posts. I mean comments like they had no other options but to keep playing Tmacs younger brother are just too funny (umm just a thought but one option might have been to play the super talented Weed and leave Tmac down back). Comedy gold.

By the by did you read this article? In it Jimmy Bartel analyses our list. Not surprisingly as most on DL agree (including me) he says we should target Lever who would be the 'intercept marking and rebounding defender that would compliment Frost and Oscar McDonald so well'. What is more surprising is that he says if we don't move Tmac permanently forward we need to bring in another tall forward. I thought that was what we had Weed for? Perhaps he doesn't rate him as highly as you.

Bin, for daring to have me on ignore, you must suffer two penances-

          1. Give yourself a jolly good flo gging.

          2. Go back and read all the clever and informative posts that you missed.

  1. Task completed. Surprisingly enjoyable.

Back to topic, have a couple of contacts in the Western Burbs   the Stringer wants out is gathering steam

Sounds promising. Can you get your contacts to put in a good word for us? Stringer would add real triple XXX factor to our forward line.

Next year with an injury free run, we'll have a lot more coverage given we'll hopefully have Lever, Garland for one more year, Smith and Keilty if he comes on.

I just have a feeling we will pay Garland out and delist/retire him and that he might play a year at Casey, to help the younger players there, if he recovers well enough from his knee injury.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned Lever on DL?

He would be expensive to get and with us chasing other players may be too far out of our reach, unless it was a player swap.

Leave it to others to throw up the usual suspects.

One thing though on Stringer, while mercurial, he can fail to do the basics and I don't think that is Goody's preferred type.

We are crying out for blokes who can turn a game.   High risk but one worth taking if available

The club would be mad not to at least enquire about Stringer.  Brendan McCartney coached him for his first couple of seasons and may know of any issues/mental demons that seem to have plagued him over the past season and a half.  Prior to that he looked like becoming a genuine superstar.

Those dismissing him would do well to remember that Toby Greene was on the trade table a couple of years ago and is now one of the most damaging players in the comp (admittedly I hate him with a passion).

in 2006 a young troublesome player, with similar freakish (but flakey) abilities was nearly traded to Collingwood but failed a medical.  Went on to win 3 flags and a Norm Smith.

I'd be definitely be asking the question and getting Macca's opinion before dismissing the idea completely.

I'm in the same boat - while he is certainly a talented player, the Dogs would want something seriously good for him and I don't think he's consistent enough to warrant it.  Too high risk for me.

"If there's one thing in life worse than being ignored in Dland, it's not being ignored on Dland".

Oscar Wilde said that.

I love Col but I think there is a bit of sense in this.

If he was told that he wouldn't play seniors and he was taking a spot on the list we'd like to fill I'm sure he'd agree to being paid out, play at Casey and continue his coaching role with the club.  He's a terrific club man.  I hope we treat him very well.

Nice long kick, but us he good enough? Seems to have dropped off in the last few years, or maybe I've just not paid attention.

Bad run of injuries for past 2 seasons, has hardly played. More than that, hard to say. Not just a long kick, but an accurate kick. Which we need.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
