Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Id just leave Jesse in the square all day. Dont bother running up the ground. a few times last week we got the ball, looked up and there was no one in our forward line to kick it to. Just leave him there.

That is when he plays he worst footy. He has to be on the move. His aerobic capacity is his biggest asset.

I hope so. He's one of the loosest backmen in the comp and this would leave Jack to roam free and do Watts he does best!

Perhaps, but Howe also knows where to go to get the ball and gets pleanty of it.  I'd almost be tempted to play Watts on Howe in a defensive forward role and let Howe lead Jack to the ball.  I think they'd be well matched athleticly (except for aerially) and if Watts were to play it well, it could really come off for us by taking their best defensive play maker out of the game and getting our best attacking play maker into the game.

Hogan and Pedo could provide the main targets up forward and could be less impeded by Howe if Watts can do a good job on him.  Barring Watts, I think either Melksham or Harmes are the match-ups we should be targeting for Howe.  Hassel the F#@$ out of Howe and make the slimy turd doublely regret leaving us for that filth.

Our contested marking skills were really showed up by the Lions last week. Jesse and Pedo were our shining lights in that regard, but whenever the Lions went long to a pack, they would mark it. Jeremy Howe as we all know is a great contested marker, so by leading him off with some of our other dangerous forwards he'll be neutralised and worn down.

That being said, if they stick him on Pedo or Jesse, our other forwards and midfielders are so dangerous in front of goals we have plenty of other avenues for goal to go to, whereas the Pies only have a few dangerous forwards, which Tom and Jetta could easily handle. With Salem and Melksham firing off accurate darts into our forward 50 we're well placed to give the Scumwood a good thrashing 5 times in a row.

Funny how Lynden Dunn has joined a 'more' successful team?

That's the form 22 for this year excluding Viney.

Plenty of incentive for the team to play finals and plenty of pressure on individual players to perform. Casey will play finals next week but AFAIK none of this 22 can play - the criteria are "not play for MFC in R23" OR play 6+ games for Casey.  That means their selection rivals will have two matches to make their case if there are any form or commitment stumbles this week.  And hopefully Viney automatic in.

Did Dunn make a statement that warrents this statement/insult.  As far as I'm concerned I hold little or no resentment towards Dunn because he essentialy left for the opportunity to play footy at the senior AFL level that he wasn't getting and wasn't likely to get with us in the future.  He was a loyal and dedicated servant of the MFC for many years before moving.

Jeremy Howe on the other hand is the one who left for either or both more money, perceived better success and the opportunity to play as a perminant forward (Haha to that too).  Ultimately we received next to no value for Jeremy leaving compared to the value he has provided the scum.  The better he plays for them, the more I beguin to despise him.  Melbourne supporters should BOOOOOOOO this Jezza bloke on Saturday afternoon.  He's not quite a Scully, but he went to that filthy Collingwood scum and that makes him nearly as bad.

Balls, you're spot on with respect to Dunn - the comment was made by Taylor Adams just before QB game, not by Lynden. I share your views on his leaving the club, and always look forward to watching him unload a torp from full back.

Also agree with your views on Howey - he left for a life kicking goals in a successful club and finds himself where he was with us four years ago. Stuck in the backline of a not-good-enough club. He can suck a bag of dicks.

Dunn goes to the pies (under sufferance) full of hope and happiness at the prospect of joining a successful club.

Howe goes to the Pies because he hates playing in the backline and proceeds to be reinvented by the genius Buckley as a defender.

My kids talk about opposite day. This must have been opposite year.

Ben Reid has withdrawn from tomorrow's match...  Our forwards will dominate tomorrow

EDIT: He is actually named forward which surprises me, but it makes their forward line look extremely bare other than Jamie Elliott

Kirby in for Reid. Leads the VFL goal kicking, has a lot of hype around him in terms of x-factor. Small forward, was very overweight at the start of the year. Should be easily shut down by our nimble backline.

This kids a freak from the few games I saw of him as a kid. He's one of the best junior talents I've seen and have no doubt he will cause some damage against us this week.

Whoever plays on him but will do some damage the other way as I don't recall him liking defensive running that much.

Im backing him to kick 2 or 3 but his man (say Hunt) should be able to setup a couple the other way.

Wasn't it Adams who said Dunn was happy to be at a successful club. I don't think Dunn said it as such. Let Dunn do his thing. That'll involve a couple of long bombs, some spoiling and a couple of short passes to Melbourne players who will then have shots on goal.

I'm concerned that he's a fiery little fecker and might stir up a few of our guys and they'll do something stupid.

Watching him play for filth reserves against Casey earlier this year this Kirby guy lost the plot and was giving away silly free kicks. I believe it was Munro that stuck to him like a glove all day and pestered him throughout.

I'm with you on us doing something stupid but one of our boys should get into him early and mess with his head cause the last thing we need is a first gamer to rip us apart.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
