Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Tomy Bugg could be a very useful player in September if we make it.

We have missed his spirit in the fwd line.

I hope what Ch7 reported is crap

Picture this!!

Elimination final vs Sydney.

Ins - Tomas Bugg.

The Bugg is a competitive beast! I love the way he plays but also wish he had a more reliable kick.

Comes back through Casey to put his case forward like everyone else who is pushing for a senior recall.

Tomas Bugg needs to earn back trust? What, are his teammates afraid he might him them? Contemporary society is just so full of nonsense.

His teammates are afraid he might hit someone else, fire them up and then shut up shop for the rest of the game.

I'm afraid he'll do it too. That's why I wouldn't pick him again this year unless there was no other choice.

I agree I love his mongrel but he crossed a line against Sydney and yes need to tear it up (footy speaking) at Casey.

If he plays well I would pick him ahead of JKH and Trengrove as a minimum.

He's behind Salem, Stretch, JKH, Watts and Kennedy for a game.

Well, not behind Salem this week anyway.

IMVHO he needs a run at Casey to regain match form and anyway, who from last weekend's team would you leave out?

He's a good VFL player nothing more. Hopefully he gets the treatment that Kennedy has got so it doesn't matter how you play at VFL level you won't get a game at AFL level. Hopefully they delist him at seasons end.

Really? This is a genuine concern? What if he makes another apology in line with our Judeo-Christian societal concept of contrition, penitence, and redemption. He hit someone. It wasn't a decent thing to do. Nothing he has done since or can do in the future will alter that fact. I've actually been tagged as a 'social-justice warrior' on this site before, but seriously, this idea of Bugg needing to earn back the respect of his team-mates is either lip-service or nonsense.

That element of 'playing on the edge' and the subsequent 5x suspensions this year has been a double-edged sword. In one instance, we've suffered with the absences of some of our better players. But on the other hand, we've instantly lost the old tag of being a soft team. Given that we do have depth with our list, I'm comfortable for the occasional Weekend at Bernies as long as he roughs up a Danger or Sloane as he has in recent times. Same goes for Bugg, and he just might give Trac the rest that he needs. Hope Bugg gets the nod.

It wasn't just the hit being sub-decent, it was the whole package. He motivated the opposition and played like complete poo himself. It was the most clear case of getting psyched out on the footy field that I've ever seen. So yes, I think his teammates would look at him differently after the fact.

A game at Casey to get his touch back after 6 weeks out, then he can be used to rest someone if needed round 23. As stated in another post.

Can't believe the harshness against Bugg....Steven May is Vice captain after his "cowardly" 5 week suspension & do you even remember the name of the Port Adelaide player who copped a similar suspension....off field he is a far different person than his on field personna.....I personally felt is was not an "intentional " act ....he was genuinely remorseful & according to every report from the club "he has not put a step wrong" . If his form warrants it and the coaches think he is in our best 22 then I am more than happy with that.....he is a player of the Melbourne Football Club & deserves our support.  Alll I can ascertain from some of the postings is that none of you have ever "stuffed" up in life.....ever ????

Agree with this sentiment.

I think the issue is simply match fitness. Give him a week at Casey for this reason then back in the seniors following week if required.

Myself, I don't hold footballers to any moral standard. I care about the 30 touches and 5 goals they might bring, not if they do hospital visits to cancer kids, or anything like that. That is for the pope not a footballer.

That said, he let down the club. If you want to be a football hardman be Jack Viney. Make the other side worry that if they pick up the ball it's going to cost them, not punch someone 50 feet off the ball.

The acts of Bugg, Hogan, Lewis, Salem etc didn't help the MFC. It hurts us.

Bugg was instrumental during our best month of footy this year. That ended one fateful Friday night and we've been treading water ever since. Get him back.

This.  For a period there he was our best target up forward.  But it's hard to squeeze him in as Harmes and Melksham played well,  and Hannan kicked those vital goals in the last. He'll be close to a game.  Suspect he'll be in the 25, but play at Casey.

When Bugg had his brain fade and was suspended, we lost our mojo. He provides swagger and makes those around him more confident. He was also our number 1 target up forward when we were missing a few talks. Though he missed a lot of shots at goal, the fact he was getting so many shoes what a dangerous player he can be. Straight back into the team for mine. Our players are more confident when he's around.

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
