Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Won't leave the Saints but he's an obvious talent that could fill a need for us. He's got outside class and has proven he can win ball and stand up in big moments. He's had a great year and would offer a lot to our side... but he won't leave the Saints.

Billings is a big ‘what might have been’ for us. Roos has said that the Kelly vs Tyson/Pick 9 debate is void as we rated Billings at pick 2 that year.

Billings vs Tyson, Salem and Hunt... I think we’ve come out ahead.

He's soft, but he's also someone who I believe they have totally misused this season.  He could be a weapon for them through the midfield, but either through poor fitness or an unwillingness to play him there, he's languishing in their dysfunctional forward line.

I don't think I'd be interested in him, but he's just the sort of player who could leave and dominate elsewhere.

i think the saints have completely misused him, burying him deep in the forward line - no idea if it's for injury reasons or what have you, but he's a much better player than he's shown thus far in 2018

Was a good kick for goal as a junior, don't quite know what's gone on at St Kilda.

Could give us more outside run through the midfield & his field kicking is still good.

Would be funny if we used Tyson in a trade to finally get him, think we could get more out of him than St Kilda has.

Had quite a good year in 2017 and was probably their best against us in Rd 21.

Can imagine if Taylor & Viney believe in him as a player chances are we've already picked up the phone.

Billings for Tyson in a heartbeat. If we had to add to that deal we could - and should. I would prefer we traded into Gresham, but if Billings is all we could get I'd be keen on that. Jack Billings is going to be a very good football player, he just looks disinterested and unhappy at times (too many times and most times). I suspect he isn't happy at St Kilda, would probably be a far better player in a better side. We should at least ask the question. Tyson is too slow for our side, he will struggle to even break back into it, plus he isn't versatile, at least we could sit Billings in our forward line and get something out of him.

Must admit, I get a little sickened by the talk about trading in and out.

I don't say don't do it selectively, but every time a name is mentioned, folks start talking about trading out players like a meat market.

If a player like Tyson comes to the coach and wants out, that's another thing.

However, if the mateship and culture is as good as is being stated, then it is important that we keep as many as our existing group as possible. We have a talented list and we will always need depth.

Loyalty to the Club and to your mates is an important ingredient of any successful club.

I disagree entirely. Loyalty means absolutely nothing if you aren't in good enough form to remain in the side - ala Tyson. He can be as loyal as he wants but if he isn't making an impact it means jack sh*t. I am sure many of his teammates at AFL level would prefer if Tyson was putting in more 1% efforts and defensive acts so it makes their job easier. But he isn't, and as a result he is at Casey.

I've seen this inaccurately put on this site too many times. Give us Merrett or Crouch in that example and then we're laughing. We traded Pick 20 also.

Which part is inaccurate?  If we’d kept pick 2, we would have taken Billings.  Is it the inclusion of pick 20??

If so, then it’s Billings and Jack Leslie for Salem, Tyson and Hunt.

I like it, the kid can play, confidence is shot and change of scenery could be good for him

Yes. Our pick 20 became 22 or 23 after bidding so Leslie is not available. We probably would have taken Lewis Taylor if we kept that pick.

It became pick 22 I think.

We also coincidently had pick 23 as a compensation pick for Colin Sylvia which we traded to Adelaide for Bernie Vince.  Adelaide then used this pick to select Matt Crouch who has gone on to be an All Australian midfielder and win their B&F by the age of 22.  Bernie had been great for us however I think Adelaide would be happy with that deal.

All true 'Hem', but neither of them are one of my mates.  So you were right,,, in a professional game where trades are allowed, and talk of a mid season trade period, it is, a Meat -Market mate.

Now lets get to buisness.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
