Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Gus...yes

The others....Nope

Keeping Pederson in was a good move and Hannan saved his game with those two goals but otherwise was ineffective

You are giving Hannan a "nope"??? Well that tells me all I need to know. Not only did he ice the game with 2 fantastic goals, but he was part of a much more even application of pressure that we were able to apply today.

And make no mistake, that is more important in modern footy than a couple of extra touches.

Maxy gave the umps a little whack after the game, according to fox footy. Said he gave away free kicks he's never given away in his life, and that they kept blowing the whistle and he didn't know why

I am happy we won. I'm one of these strange people who rate StKilda fairly highly. Again we had one really bad quater (3rd).  Played good in 2nd part of 1st quater and finished off well when they got to within 4 points of us. Gus, Hunt, Jones, Pedo and Gawn played good games. Harmes and ANB good as well.

There were a lot of random "ruck infringements" that went against Gawn in the first 2 or 3 quarters, I was thinking the same.

Anyone  else see Oliver absolutely giving it to Gawn in the 3Q?

As they were walking back to the centre circle after a St Kilda goal Clayton was shoving Max in the chest and shouting at him.

Anyone see the incident that brought that on?

Yeah you dont know really....he may have just been trying to fire him up or something...maybe he needed it....they were coming at us.

Hannan... 5 kicks... 4 hand balls One tackle

As I said the two goals in the last saved his game

Weid and Wagner were woeful

Impacted his confidence in the ruck......held back to not give away frees.

Do you think that the immense pressure today, especially in the first half, just came from nowhere? No, you need 22 blokes applying it, and those outs were all about that, not about the number of kicks or handballs a player can get.

Modern footy is all about pressuring the opposition and turning the ball over, or locking it in, dangerous spots.

As much as I rate Salem, and to a lesser extent Watts, Goodwin made a big statement by demanding exactly what I said above, and it paid off.

Would our drop Weid for Lions game? I wouldn't, another game of AFL experience for him. Watts comes in a week later.

No way in hell, his role was to compete and bring the ball to ground which he did well. Plus watts still looked average in the VfL yesterday

I have a confession to make.

I rostered myself off for today but i didnt bother going to the game. (From Shepparton).

My poor daughter was saying to me all the time we were watching the game on TV, "gee it would be good to be down there watching dad"................

I squibbed it after our last 2 games, especially after we lost to Norf for the 27 billionth time. Gave us very little chance, and as i told the family, i didnt wanna get us all ejected from the 'G for abusing our team while we find a way to miss finals again.

Yeah, im soft.

Even left home during the 3rd QTR to drive to Dan Murphys to get a 1.125 of Jonnie Red to drown my sorrows. Just cant trust the team to finish off like it should.

Yeah, im soft.

We were gone during the 3rd....... GONE. Somehow we answered and answered well. The Saint had as much on the line as we did and it was US who toughed it out in the last QTR.

So to all those who wanna look at the negatives, just remember that we are a BIG shot at playing in September now.

Despite people like me who gave us no chance.

(Already had a lot of Red so put me on ignore now or risk reading my rants for the rest of the day)

[censored] GO YOU GOOD THINGS !!!!!!!

Its not the end of the world for Saints supporters, they have that 1 flag they can console themselves with.

1 premiership in 154 years for the Saints. That's an average of 1 flag every...........154 years. St Kilda's future post Riewoldt and Montagna doesn't look too flash.

Sensational win and really a case of doing it where it counts. Slowly but surely the club has become mentally stronger. I really thought we were going to drop it at one stage but to fight back and wrestle back the momentum was a huge result.

Not often I get to attend but was there today and mightily impressed with our composure in what was a mini-final. Whilst being at the game is undeniably better than watching on TV, it's not good for the heart AT ALL. I felt physically ill at three quarter time. And the umpiring was [censored] atrocious in the third quarter, Razor Ray seeing things from 100m away the rest of us can't?!?

I honestly don't understand people who come on here and only point to negatives after a performance like that. Were the last two weeks of misery not enough? Each to their own but...

My main positives:

- Brayshaw. Brayshaw. Brayshaw. To play like that any week would have been a breakout. To play like that in your return game is downright inspirational. Perfect game.

- Hunt, a heck of a player when he lowers his eyes. He'll never have the ball spinning perfectly like Salem or Watts but his DECISION MAKING today was elite.

- Pedersen, playing like a pro.

- Harmes in the first quarter, Hannan in the last.

- Jones and Oliver dominating at the coal face.

- Melksham the super boot. What a trade!

- Jordan Lewis dominating the last quarter when we needed our leaders to stand up.

I [censored] hate the Saints. Their culture, their fans, their players. Even their coach bores me to death every Monday. To end their season and be 2-0 this year after a decade of misery is immensely satisfying.

Wasn't pretty but we got there in the end, good effort from the boys.

If Oscar doesn't get up for next week, and with Frost out of form, does Keilty get a debut against the Lions?

Still a rookie? Wouldn't we need a player to go down on LT injury list for him to debut anyway?

Max was strangely umpired out of the ruck contests. After conceding 3 frees in a row at the centre, he looked unwilling to contest the next tap out. Never seen anything like that before.

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P
