Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Does Goodwin get a spell for making us play in  the wind with no strategy or DIRECTION.

NO plan to attack from the windy side or defend to the dead side.

Adelaide people worry me.

They are like New Zealanders with slightly better hygiene levels but the chip on the shoulder remains.

Immediately after that Goodwin said Watts was no longer in our best 22 but he didn't explain how a player can go from top 3 to outside 22 almost overnight, given that he had been injured.  That just doesn't make sense.

Goodwin then conceded that perhaps Jack should have had a run at Casey before coming into the seniors (which is the more typical route for players injured).

I think we were all surprised that all our injured players came straight back in.  Salem, Gawn, Hogan, Jones, Watts, Viney, Tyson.  It smacks of desperation by the coaches.  All those players struggled on return to seniors.  Only Gawn is finding some form.  Now Salem and Watts are out of the team.  One rested the other used to 'send a message to all players'.

Top 3 to outside best 22, in a few weeks?  Don't buy that!

Perhaps the coaching panel need to take some responsibility here.

Perhaps they should shoulder it ALL...It is after all...what they do !!

I agree here, so many selection bloopers this year, weird match ups and puzzling game day stuff, ie Jetta on Brown and game style in wind. However he is a first year coach but he really has done some stupid stuff this year and not enough has been said about him/coaches.

There are here, for mine, two issues.

1: First year coach.  It's a fact. He will/must learn/evolve.

2: Is he still accountable, i.e does (1) give you a get out of jail free card ?   . Of course he's accountable. The whole lot of them are accountable. If they wish the players to be then so must they and as the  'powers that be" must ultimately shoulder it all

Well it's not great.

Our team needs to win 3 in a row and both our forwards are out.

I think Watts was rushed back in like Gawn, Jones and Viney but this is because of lack of depth and other injuries.

Still, he had 3 weeks and his lack of trying seemed evident.

Lots of burden on Tmac. ThankGod he can kick goals.

Didn't he write an article on Watts after that Collingwood goal? Pumping up his tyres. So a lot of truth to what you say mate.

I agree. I expect Watts and Goodwin would like to see Watts recapture his earlier season form. He's playing badly. That's hugely disappointing, obviously.

The club dropped Garlett last year. And he's a gun. He's one of the first named on the team sheet this year. Players have form slumps, not always because they're not trying though.

Goodwin just dropped Salem. He's also a gun. Not a word said in that article about Goodwin's view on Salem. He's hard at it. Why was he dropped? Josh Kelly and Marcus Bontempelli (same draft) are dominating and wouldn't get dropped for such important games.

I don't disagree with elements of the article, but it's a fairly obvious angle and I expect there's a bit more to Watts and Salem being dropped for this game.

In short, we absolutely need to win this game, and we can't carry any players who aren't in form.

About time somebody wrote an article giving us a full rundown of Slobbo's life.

I am so sick of this useless parasite.

He lost ANY CRED after that disgraceful article on Alex Fosolo

The article is reasonable. Jack has played 150 games and should be a stalwart of the club and the fwd line.

That he has been dropped yet again to find his 'mojo' is a poor reflection in him.

Agree. I wonder what his loyal supporters will say after today's VFL effort, "he's injured" I'm sure. Fact is, he's inconsistent, lacks intensity and flaps around with his butterfly net.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
