Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

    Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

    Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

    We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

    However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

    The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

    Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

    We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

    WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

    Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 19

Gee this is a game I'm so nervous about. We should beat Nth but for some reason we cant beat them the past few times. If we are to make finals and keep ahead of the teams below us this is  a must win. Its time we beat nth.

No change is nice to see. Ben Brown is a danger and must be stopped. Nth would have to be fired up with all this tanking talk, but we just need to have a good win and if possible boost our percentage.

also no injuries or no suspensions please boys. Just get the job done.

@Rodney (Balls) Grinter - 2 things:

1. If you buy a membership to Demonland the ads will disappear and @Nasher gets to buy a new server (it will make things so quick!)

2. The ads are 'smart' and by that I mean they will show you what they know you want to see based on your previous search history. Just before I had to log in a minute ago I had a look at the ads given to me and I saw Crust (ordered a pizza from there two weeks ago) and an ad for the specific computer I bought yesterday.

So if you are seeing dating sites, don't blame Demonland!

Search your cache, you know it to be true!

My guess if true

gawn out for pedo

jkh out for Maynard

all depending on weather probably don't want to risk gawns ankle if wet and Maynard is another brute that might suit the conditions better than jkh, although it would be surprising as goody is a straight shooter when it comes to selection

He might feel more at home, it'll probably have a bit more of a suburban footy feel to it which is what he's been doing for the last couple of seasons.

Hope he is able to put in a really good game, like many here I just want to see him back playing regular AFL footy. Whether that's in Red and Blue or not I actually don't mind, but let's see how he goes this week.

Also I'm not feeling like this is MFCSS but I think it would be a mistake to take North lightly here. We definitely did earlier in the year and they got the jump on us, I know we've developed further as a team but for the first bounce we should bully them around like teams have done to us in the past. At 3 quarter time I want to see us with a big score and cruising comfortably.

Few points:

1.  I want to see Jack as a MFC AFL footballer first and foremost.  I don't care if he is perennially on the fringe, but as far as I'm concerned, he is one of ours.  I think there is a lot of mutual loyalty there to repay, for the club for what Jack has gone through with us and for Jack from the club keeping him on for so long through all the injuries.  I wouldn't begrudge him as such if either he or the club decided he was beter as a regular at a building club like the Lions, GC or something, but it's certainly not a preferable scenario by any means.  I'd think and hope that Jack would rather be on the fringe with his mates at a successful club, than a regular at a struggling club, from his perspective I would think he's been there done that and deserves to take some part in the success I think and hope that is on the door step of the MFC.  The ultimate would be for him to become a premership player at the MFC, but let's not get too far ahead of ourselves;

2.  I think any game is a potential danger game for any club, even the strong ones.  With our record against North I'm also feeling aprehensive, but really do feel the time is right and team is mature and good enough that we should just get the job done.  Windy conditions in Tassie are different, bit we played in them last year and did ok, if it wasn't for giving a 60 odd point head start;

3.  First game this year we physically took it up to North from the first bounce, but I think that distracted us from playing our game and let them bully us on the scoreboard.  We play a physically hard game naturally now, so we just get on with the gamr in a professional manner, put the scores on the board and come away with the four points.  No point in burning too much energy or getting too worked up and getting players suspended over that Norf trash;

4.  What does the MFCSS stand for?  I mean I get the loose idea what it means from the numerous contexts I have seen it in, but don't understand the explicit acronym.

It'll be a typical Hobart day, cold, grey, windy, but relatively dry.
I wouldn't mind some rain, Will somewhat neutralise Ben Brown and his telescopic go-go gadget arms with a slippery footy but hey, Our side looks bloody deeeeeeeeee-licious.
Expecting a lot from Hibberd tomorrow, we didn't have him earlier this year and he has been insanely lethal coming out of that backline, I wouldn't be surprised if we see him and Nev in the AA squad of 40 and even the 22.

In my humble opinion our run and carry off half back will be key tomorrow.
Hunt, Hibberd, Frost...those 3 fellas love taking on their oponent and I have rarely seen them beaten in a foot race this year.
Nifty Neville Jettas magic tomorrow will need to be turned up to 11 and I expect a great win.

North almost always get the jump on us in the first quarter.

2015 they kicked 7.4 to our 2.0 in the first, and went on to win by 35

2016 they kicked 8.2 to our 2.2, and went on to win by 5

Round 9 this year they kicked 6.7 (could have been a LOT worse) to our 2.5, and went on to win by 14

Stating the bleeding obvious here, but if we can stick with them in the opening quarter tomorrow, we are well on the way.

    TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

    The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

    They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim
