Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Number 1 on the list has to be the North Melbourne big footy forum. I was just there. I feel decidedly duller for having read some of that drivel. The vitriol they spew is staggering when you consider their miserable history of low achievement.

Bomberblitz ( or whatever they call themselves now ) just as bad. Perhaps a higher average IQ.

I went once to Victoria Park and stood in front of the Social club watching the dees salute. That was tough as I dared not open my usually big mouth. I had to pretend to be upset at the result.

Linton street, Moorabbin was dangerous in the old days, not so much because of the footy but because my siblings and I used to steal half empty lemonade bottles from between the feet of the Saints fans in the outer to take them to the milk bar for the refunds. We made a fortune from it( we were good )

I went to the old Victoria Park oval one particular day, after a few frothies, with a couple of other Dees supporters and stood in front of the stand surrounded by Pies supporters and gave it too them all day, foolish move and on reflection I was lucky to have left with my teeth intact. We won and I was even worse after that.

Went to Linton street with a few guys, one of which was a Saints member, we had had a belly full of beer and I made a complete prat of myself singing the Melbourne song in the social club rooms after we beat them, It was a stupid and ungracious thing to do and I apologised to my friend a few day later.

Luckily it is only just the other side, if it was much further I would ignore its existence as I do with everything else out that way.

Live in and grew up norf of the Yarra. Can confirm it's hostile territory for Melbourne supporters. Mates are split between Carlton, Essendon and Collingwood.

Same same for me as well. If only the MCG was Bayside. I know that's selfish.

I would not be able to contain myself. I know a couple of eagle supporters here and I thought Geelong and Hawthorn supporters were smug.

Vic park was the worst of the grounds. I remember going there with a couple of collinwood mates as a guest in the stand behind the nothern end goals. Luckily they were playing I think Sth Melb but the crowd was a disgrace. Spitting on the opposition coach was something I saw which blew me away. I think the last time we played there we won and they were on top of the ladder ( 94?) and I left very qiuckly with my scarf tied under my jumper.

T he next worse was Windy Hill. Full of essenscum supporters who were a stage above Richmond barrackers because they could pronounce the letter F.

Was married to a hawks supporter  in the late 70s and 80's and had to go back to that place after every game we played against them. Except once when we almost beat them when Flower kicked a few in the last quarter. Tuck got a lucky free  and they just fell over the line to win. I gave them hell and said they will never win the flag that year which they didn't.  On the way out of the G I went for a slash and when I came out they had all gone.  Left me there so didn't have to go back to to the social club. Ya!!

The luck that club has had, since Smithy taught John Kennedy all he knows is quite incredible. We must get back on our feet and stand strong

Year after Year....

Yes, I got that comment thrown at me on the TIO ground immediately after the game in Darwin of all places, and from a North Melb supporter - go figure!

He also asked me how the snow was in Buller, and I said, "I don't effing know, I'm here in Darwin supporting the Dees, having made the trip from North Melb, where I live!"

I mentioned to him smugly the Roy Morgan research paper (about how loyal Dees' supporters are), then casually had a shot for goal from Jayden's flank outside 50 with my daughter's ball and popped it straight through the middle. (Ok, it was 30 metres out, but on a similar angle.)

He gave me a modicum of respect after that.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
