Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Unless someone in the 22 is injured, no change this week.

This team should be more than capable of getting the job done against the equal-worst side in the competition.

Assuming Jones is ready the following week, likely to be the lesser of Trengove and JKH.

I will also say I'm not convinced Vince walks back into the side after his suspension. His form this year has been rubbish IMO.

I wouldn't go as far to say Vince has been rubbish, he has done some excellent (close to match winning) shut down roles this year. But I do agree he's well below what's been previously, for that reason if we win next week and replacements such as Trengove/JKH play their role well Vince should be made to come through the VFL.

No change.

Norf tried to beat up Essedon this week, and will no doubt try the same against us, as they did successfully the first time around this season. We need to be on our game from the first bounce, and maintain the aggression back at the ball.

Our ins were not horrible, and deserve another go.

With a swag of teams within 1 game of us, finals are still not guaranteed yet. Simply cannot drop this game.

if north know they are getting Kelly the lower the pick the better they will be, if rumors are true that they are trying for dusty aswell they would bounce back up the ladder pretty quick if they landed both, but the money they would be on would hurt the list long term imo, and who the fark would want to play for norf

Might be good time to rest a couple of younger players and get the team ready for the finals.

Oliver finished up limping and might come up sore. Hunt hasn't taken a break since his knockout against Adelaide. ANB, harmes and hannan might also be due for a break.

Could be good list management in preparation for the finals.

we have a week off before finals.

Clarry n hunt can have lighter weeks but best team every week

No point in bringing veteran players like Vince through the Casey side at this time of year.

You would keep him in the squad till his training justified selection again.

His effort is never questioned ,as with Lewis.

They are great leaders and playing VFL only opens them up for an injury .

Lewis is more omitable than Vince but we probably need both in for finals.

The injury gods are likely to dictate Trengoves fate.

The nature of the game is that competition starts within the clubs list.

We are doing very well ,batting deep and we still have one less player to choose from thanks to H .FW,Lamumba.

I get the romance but anyone who thinks Trengrove should keep Vince out of the team is suffering an old fashion does of heart over head.

Why?

Bernies career is coming to an end. Trenners is a lot younger than him and deserves his chance

Are you serious

1. We haven't beaten North since 2006.

2. They have a good record down in Hobart

3. We need to keep winning to even play finals.

4. Every game is an 8 point game from now on.

So NO WAY!!!!!!!!!

Agree, Vince has been terrific when given a shut down role. The problem is, this isn't very often. The rest of the time he's in the backline practicing his howlers.

Have to agree with this, the ladder is a log jam between 10 and 4. We simply have to put the best team on the par each week.

This is a great season from the club but bloody stressful as well. Every week seems like a final in that its so bloody close. Glad the eagles and saints lost. Now the dogs are knocking. Dons have a high percentage and an easy run home as do swans. Must win against norf despite 11 year hoodoo which is pretty damning, NO change.

Not wrong, I'm just peaking every week, think it's affecting my health, even used the C word in front of my 12yr old on Saturday, think I might need counselling.

Sorry. It's just my opinion. It's starting become a hard team to pick though isn't it?

On reflection I would say JKH comes out if Jones comes in.

I really like Vince, but if Trengove can build on his game against Port then I don't see Vince walking straight back into the team.

Jones kind of hinted that Bernie might not be able to walk straight back into the team on the footy show. Nor should he.

I think there should be no change especially considering the returning players need another game or two to consolidate. JKH may be vulnerable and Oliver looked proppy at the end. Give Jones another week to recover.

A major reason hawthorn was able to win 3 successive GF's was their rotation policy.

I assume people also questioned clarkson  at the time

No change this week unless Jones is fit. Otherwise Trengove goes out.

As for Vince, I cannot believe Demonlanders don't think he is a walk up start. He kept Sloane to 8 possessions in his last match until he was concussed. He clearly makes us a better side.

vince is a guy that I definitely want in the team but each week he gets way too cute with the ball and turns it over. Kicking a 25metre dab kick off one step, threading a needle, sideways, deep in defence. He needs to cut that out asap and get off his pedestal. The team works too hard to simply have Bernie blow torch the ball without a care in the world. I wouldnt mind him at half forward to be honest where he is a nice shot for goal, can hit lead up targets and can use his tackling pressure to lock the ball in.

Last time we played them our key forwards were Watts and Weideqman with Pedo rucking , we got outmarked all day. This time it's Hogan, T. Mac and Watts forward with Max rucking, huge difference.

Not sure I agree with that. I reckon we need to go hard from now on and hit finals in good form. We will get a week break prior to finals to freshen up and recovery before we sweep all aside to claim the premiership trophy!

Agree, we know that if players aren't right they don't play. Our last 5 games are very winnable and % could be the difference between  finishing 3rd and 6th.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
