Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

have a slightly dodgy belly today, not sure if it was the copious amounts of mystery dumplings I had last night, or the booze... looking forward to the full se asian sports bar experience...and then going home to dear wifey and child at the hotel.

I am jealous. My greatest experience was in a little bar on Koh Samui in 1999, where i saw Essendrug lose the Preliminary Final with 2 Arrogant Bomber supporters who had already bought GF Tickets online ( when the internet was brand new) cost them a fortune!

i laughed...

Mmmm, only from the perspective that this crazy thing called the internet with ISP's can 'know' where you are in this world - and have a local time listed :) - not cause I'm Vicocentric.

Yeah I know, I was just stirring - truth be told I've asked myself the same question.  It is my observation from years of being on this forum as a born and bred interstater, though, that many from Victoria aren't aware that there exists a world beyond it.

Home base is a farm about 5/6 hours drive east. The mrs felt like doing some work so we've ended up in Phuket for the last year, but looking around again for something else now. At least until we decide to go back and get serious about the farm.

Next time i land in BKK i will give you a yell, probably be next year

No worries. We could be anywhere.

FWIW, the mrs is the assistant manager at a place called The Cove (shameless plug)

Bit expensive for me Fire. I tend to go away for 2-3 month stints!!

that is a Weekend splurge (looks great!)

Not sure what to expect. I think Im still getting used to this team that wins games consistently and tonight is so important to win to get a 2 game clearance of teams below us, with the ladder and season being so close wins are even more vital.

Jones is a massive loss and it will be interesting to see how Jack goes on his own as captain but Im sure he will be ok. Watts is a big loss because he is a great user of the ball and kicks goals so Im hoping Pedo is left up forward as a target.

This is another losing streak we need to bury. It's time we beat WC over there and get another away win.

So Im hoping for a dees win and no injuries and obviously Maxy to get through the game and play well.

I'm heading to the game this evening,  Im not overly confident mainly because it's just so difficult to win more than three in a row in this comp.

Watts is a massive out.

But you never know ,we bring that manic pressure and we'll get it done.

I would love to stick it up these Flat track bullies!!!

Whats going on with Jesse Hogan in terms of return? Any news?

From the top, he's about 2-3 weeks away. But if it ends up being 4 weeks I didn't say 2-3 was definite.

Should have won this one last year with a far less developed & settled list. I remember the umps went coast-to-coast on us in the last quarter - physically trying to blow the ball over their goal line with a whistle - remarkable.

Smash them tonight you good things.

The Gawn deliberate was the only howler last year.. Bad kicking in the last quarter was what cost us.

If we are going to snap a 9 game losing streak against WCE this is the week to do it.

No Kennedy & Lecras makes this very achievable.

I think our defence will be the key. Our height was exposed last year by Kennedy and Darling. I hope they send Oscar to Darling & Frost to petrie.

Need to start well and fast like last week.

(Side note we haven't beaten WCE since 2009 & Syndey since 2010)

If we win the next 2. We could be the real deal.

I see Schmitt umpired last night and Pannell is umpiring the Collingwood v Port game. Fingers crossed Nicholls doesn't make the trip west.

No Nicholls!  Umpires:

8. Rosebury from WA by far the most senior of the three with 331 games.

12. Stephens from Qld with 30 games

31. Mitchell from Vic. with 69 games.

Hope Rosebury doesn't dominate or get carried away with crowd noise.

I do think that local umpires should not be the senior guy for any game.

I got my hands on some data earlier this season and these are the win/loss numbers for these umpires. No Nicholls, no Pannell, but still not so good.

Its when you look at all the horrible records you accept how bad we have been for the last decade.

Wonder how we suffered it.

Hopefully smash Norf when we see em again this year.

Crownbet rates both teams the same offering either winner a free bet to the value of either winning margin.

Hope we win by 10 goals.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
