Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

General Admin tickets. Simple as that.  You can reserve your seat but it's randomised. Wont be more than 40k so will be plenty of seats on the lower levels.

If we have General Admission tickets, can we move between different GA areas? For example, sere first half high above in the Wing (Level 3, or Level 2 if available), and then see the second half behind the goals with more passionate supporters?

In many soccer stadiums in Russia and Europe that would not be possible, as they have different entrance gates for different areas of the stadium, and you can't move between them.

How many of you are there? I have an upgrade for 2 people from the MFC to reserved seats on level 2, just need to buy a general admission tickets to access the ground. Will possibly sell it.

Daniel, thank you!

How does that upgrade work? We buy 2 GA tickets and with your upgrade we go to the reserved seats at Level 2?

What's the cost of this upgrade?

Hi there and welcome.

Sorry about all the haters on here, as a seasoned traveller myself and someone who has been to Russia, I can tell you that you'll love Melbourne. Not as beautiful as St Petersburg but much warmer!

As the club offered you free General Admision ticket (you picked the right club!) you will be able to move around at say half time from level 1 GA to level 3 or behind the goals with cheer squad. You just won't be able to enter any reserved seating areas.

Hope you enjoy the trip and the game and don't forget to yell out Go Dees!

Jaded, thank you for your kind words!

As the Club gives us free GA tickets, we will spend this money for their benefit on some Club related souvenirs. And we promise to cheer for Demons!

Moving between different general admission areas seems like a fun thing to do.

If we are high above in Level 3, can we have a feel of the actual game or is it more like watching down from the skyscraper, where people look like small ants?...

The MCG is a great stadium so you will get a good view from high up. But the atmosphere is not great.

My suggestion is start up high and then move to level 1 to get the atmosphere and get into the fun of it. If it's a close match it will be particularly good. Should be maybe 40,000-45,000 people there so you won't have an issue finding a seat.

Yeah that's pretty much it. Would need to exchange for cash and then you redeem the passes from the ticket office. These are my own passes I'm kinda reluctant to part ways with them, so if you're actually interested and not trolling private message me.

Contact the club to thank them and ask if it might be possible for your family to get access to the club rooms after the game. Should (when) we win the atmosphere is great there, especially if you are new to the game. Maybe even meet the players. Could be a good public relations story for the club, "family travels to other end of the earth to see the Dees play".

Failing that, you're welcome to sit with Bitter But Optimistic, Biffen and I. We'll look after you and your family!

Akoo may not remember much after the first quarter, but a good time will be had by all. Having said that, I don't doubt he knows how to down a vodka or two.

Moonshadow, I don't want to abuse Club's kind desire to help us out, but thank you anyway for suggestion :-)

If someone lives so far away from Russia, it may seem to him that all Russian population is involved in hacking, corruption, and espionage.

Only the dying breed of idiots that believe what the mainstream media feeds them.

The vast majority of people know that Russia had zero to do with the US election, and that the leaks came from inside the democratic party.

The Russia narrative is embarrassing, and was never remotely close to believable and a year later not a shred of evidence exists for any of the claims. Blaming Putin was a convenient and lazy excuse for a failed presidential campaign that flushed 1 billion dollars down the drain.

Enjoy the game ;)

I like you akoo.

Hints for the game:

If a Saints player is tackled then yell 'Ball!!!!!' at the top of your lungs

If a Demon player is tackled then yell 'He didn't have it!!! (once again at the top of your lungs)

If the Saints get a free kick then yell 'Are you blind umpire?!?!?!? (top of lungs etc)

If the Demons get one then yell 'About bloody time!' (lungs again)

If a Demon supporter talks to you tell them that Big Max is a hero in Russia, then you will have a friend for life.

If a Saints supporter talks to you pretend you don't speak English... if they insist then say 'Tracca should have gone number 1' then laugh.

OK. Joking a little bit here. I hope you enjoy the game and the visit to our land, and that you can go back saying 'Those Aussies are mad. What a game!'

Dear Boris and Natasha,

Moonshadow has extensive links with " the party" and will organise all your official espionage requirements.(binoculars, seating)

His " information" is often unreliable ,especially after two beers.

Upon arrival your instructions will await you.

Trust nobody unless they are wearing a red and blue scarf.

Stand under the tree near gate 3 reading a copy of " the record" and one of his agents will meet you prior to your mission.

This message will self destruct once read by a moderator.

I worked in Russia for a couple of years a decade ago Moonie - the stat I remember from back then was that Russians drank 70 litres of vodka per year per capita (men, women, children). But they do stick to the good stuff...

I am amazed that you refer to ~40 thousand people as a "small" crowd for the regular season game... With so many AFL teams in Melbourne area you still have huge crowds on many games. This is something you should be very proud of!

Many Russians think that rugby union is the most popular spectator sport in Australia. That's because they don't know anything about other Australian ball sports. They are terribly wrong. I guess that AFL, NRL, cricket and even soccer outperform Rugby Union Super League in terms of spectators.

The AFL/NRL regional divide is also very unique, you don't see this happening in other countries. I wonder what could have happened if you had just one ball game in Australia. Then you would have to build grounds twice as large as MCG...

Amazing how relatively small Australian population is able to keep going so many ball sports!

About 7 years ago per capita consumption of beer in Russia has finally outnumbered per capita consumption of vodka. I mean a comparison done in actual litres consumed, not in pure alcohol equivalent...

Hope you all enjoy it.

I recommend you get to the game early (at least 1 hour early) and as others have said, feel free to adventure around. Try and get down to the fence or get behind the goals with the Melbourne cheers squad. You will get a rush seeing one of our goals come through. The main thing is to surround yourself with other club members, cheer, and have fun. Feel free to yell "ball", "man", "GO Dees", etc. Just follow what the rest of us do... as a sports lover you'll be a natural.

Enjoy :)

P.S You may find it strange that supporters of different teams often sit alongside each other. It's hard to explain but we just do it. I think it's because so many teams grew out of the same areas so we show little malice towards one another. Sure we have our banter and light teasing but ultimately we're all friends (after the siren).

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
