Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Wow went ot the game today and was not expecting that at all. WE just dominated for 4 quarters and never let the dogs back in it. Our pressure was just outstanding. Even in the final moments of the game we were still hunting and tackling. Gee if we could bring that every game it would be fantastic.

Agree O scar had his best game today. Still makes me a bit nervous when he kicks the ball but his hands were great.

But loved Watts kicking that goal at 1/2 time and Tommy kicking his goal on 3/4 time.

I just loved everything about today. also now we have won 3 times at etihad and we have finally beaten the dogs after all these years.

also great turnout by dees fans. Made lots of noise and I got in late but could hear the noise from inside and thought the dogs have scored but it was actually us.

By the way how weird did it fell just sitting there all calm and actually enjoying the footy because we were in such control. It makes a nice change.

They scored their first goal with 7m left in the second quarter. I understand what you are saying but they were being smashed despite what the stats say...

Don't know about smashed but they didn't really look like scoring because we gave them no time on the ball. Only having 2pts to quarter time doesn't just happen, we rode the pressure and took our chances when they came.

I must admit, I did feel like they had their hands on the ball for most of the first quarter. Our work off the ball to transition into defence was a thing of beauty. Long may it continue!

That first quarter was the difference. Whilst they had their hands on the ball we tackled, harassed and eventualy wore them done with persistent pressure. Not pretty footy but hard and tough stuff.Bit like the good old days !.They were done at quarter time. Did not want to be near our fellas even though we gave them opportunities with some turnovers but hat is now the modern game. Very impressive. determined effort by the whole team.

What impressed me was we had no stand outs. All did something when required.

Outside of the first 15-20 minutes we dominated them in every possible way. The scoreboard flattered them in the end. That was a 100 point belting for their pride, an absolute demolition job. They pride themselves on contested work and sharing the ball streaming forward. We matched, if not bettered them in the contest despite not playing a proper ruckman. We also out worked them both ways with hard running and appetite for the contest. Today was an absolute pantsing. Definitely did not expect it, but ecstatic to see it. This talented young group is starting to click and we are going places!

Go Dees!

Excellent performance by the players on the field. Poor show by the supporters.

Geez. I hope you went. Don't really need to rubbish the supporters after such a terrific win.

When he was at his best he was really something, but he began to believe his own hype and stopped doing team things thinking he was the next star of the comp.

Loved seeing Hunt chase him down.

That was the best performance I have seen from the MFC in a long time (quite possibly this century). Not in terms of polish or execution but the intent was on a whole new level for this club. We pressured them, and even when they sparked up late in the second we lifted another gear in terms of intensity.

As I once heard Scott Pendlebury say, AFL football is an effort sport. If your effort is where it needs to be, you can beat anybody and overcome structural and talent deficiencies.

I will also say we got a good run from the umps, especially early. I may be biased but it felt very unusual. Maybe it was just because we were harder and lower and historically that has rarely been the case...

Interesting stats -

231 Kicks to 198 handballs v Dogs (win)

199 to 179 v Pies (win)

239 to 204 v Suns (win)

178 to 193 v Kangas (loss)

213 to 207 v Crows (win)

193 to 237 v Hawks (loss)

240 to 179 v Bombers (win)

We still make a few poor decisions with over handballing, even today, but we clearly play our best footy when our kick to handball ratio is positive.

Look at the ratio of our last 2 losses!

over 33,000 there today. Should have put us on the friday night game instead of the snore fest that nth dished up. there was a good turnout of red and blue.

By the way the dogs have suddenly found some money to give a away some good prizes for there home games. They gave away a cairns cruise for 4 nights for there game up there and also gave away a home entertainment system. All we give away is anew balance shoes and a signed footy.

Geez I'm really nervous now when Tyson has the Ball.  I used to be like that when TMac or omac had the ball but Tyson has taken over

He needs to learn to kick it to his team mates rather than the opposition.

There were a few Dees around us. We were outnumbered, but you expect that in the Medallion Club.

Slightly misleading this. We overpossess when we're under pressure. As all teams do.

Few years late on that one, but better late than never! Just starting to get some of the recognition he deserves from outside the club too.

Yeah shouldnt have written fast becoming. My bad. But I just think this year he has stepped it up and I do hope people from outside the club pay attention. He is short but is a great mark and does his job.

He was delisted but worked his butt off to get back on the list. Roosy transformed him into a better player and turned his career around. Just love him.

I reckon that Nathan Jones fella is turning in to a pretty handy midfielder too.

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim
