I wonder how the posters who are suggesting Hogan could be trade bait would feel if they were moved on from their workplace if in the same year their father died, they'd had cancer and broken their collarbone. Or if they feel the above would effect their productivity.

I'll seen zero information from anyone I know involved in the mfc or anywhere else that suggestes there is a micro of truth to the idea we'd shop Jesse hogan around, I doubt we'd accept the deal for lever and McGovern. 

Jesse is a freakish talent who if he'd played all year without the injuries and off field stuff would probably be top 3 in the Coleman and we'd probably be locked In the 8, he's been a massive loss and we will be so much better in 2018 with him back in the side

Any journo peddling this bull shite should be barred from any access to the MFC and its players.

They are essentially calling our coaches thoughtless, because you would need to be a pretty poorly run footy club to put Hogan up for trade with what hes been through this season and with all the close mates at the club  that have helped him through it, not to mention the support from the club in general.

The media just get worse and worse.

There is no chance Hogan is going anywhere.  Based on the year he's had and how quickly he got back to the club, how much the players love having him out there, combined with him finding some good form in his last two games before doing his AC joint demonstrates he's happy at the club.

I believe after what Jesse has been through this year, and the club supporting him with family, time off and medical support, he is pretty much tied to the MFC for his career now. He will want to repay the faith and support the club has given him and it will be a mental thing for him to try and achieve success for the MFC. I doubt he will want to leave a club that has been good to him and his family.

Obviously the club will want him to stay too as he is a freakish talent and someone we can build a forward line around.

I have no inside knowledge and do not know Jesse, but that's my opinion.

I really don't care anymore if players leave cause there Is nothing we can do about it. The AFL has created an environment where the players can basically do whatever they want regardless if they r contracted or not also the club does what it wants regardless of what supporters think.  

Im even at the point where I don't have a fav player anymore cause of the footy environment. 

What ever happens will happen.

free agency for all is effectively in place when players can 'demand' a trade to the club of their choice, even when under contract

i still think that the counterweight to free agency is that players should be more commodities and if a club wants to send a player to a different club, as long as the terms of the contract are honoured (in terms of length and value of the agreement), so be it

David King just thru it up as a hypothetical a couple weeks back on SEN's 'Pure Footy'. He mentioned whether the Dees would entertain a trade off of Hogan for Lever.

I don't know about you but I'd care a whole lot if we lost some key players.

If Jesse had asked to return to WA, i couldn't begrudge him that, BUT to think that The MFC would trade him to the highest bidder whilst he is still grieving is just beyond thinking about.

If they leave then imo they don't want to be there then it would be c u later don't let the door hit u on the way out.  

I think I'm more invested in the team now rather than individuals. That's just the way I feel and it's only changed over the last few seasons.

For those of you who missed the Demonland podcast last night, Troy Chaplin said Jesse will be doing some contact work on his shoulder at a session tomorrow, and could be back as early as next week.

"We're actually looking at doing some contact training with him on Saturday with a view that he may come back next week, depending on how it goes.

"His turnaround has been fantastic, he hasn't given up on the year, he really wants to come back and contribute to the team.

"We're looking forward to having him back because we know what sort of quality player he is. He's probably learned so much about himself this year, and his resilience, no-one can question that at all, and for a 22-year-old, it's quite unbelievable really."
