Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Looking forward to @stevethemanjordan's McDonald and Frost report.

Didn't see the whole thing, but hard to point out any negatives from a win like that and from what I saw, Tom and Frost had great games with Oscar supporting.

How about this.

Do it again next week! ; )

Well there ya go, I must apologise to all dee supporters, I will never go or watch another Dee's game again, I have always put the mocca on us I'm sure. Last week I'm down from Qld and get in the members for the first time ever and we lose as we've always done we I get too a live game, last night I'm in Bright with no coverage, only updates on app. I promise I'll never watch or go to a game again.

Fairdinkum what an awesome faaaaarking win, is this our line in the sand win! The ride back too Wangaratta will be very enjoyable with sis a fellow dee.

Wife's in bed with a cuppa, kids are still asleep (?!) and I've got the replay on.

Bout to pop out and buy the flowers for wife and my Mum for later. Ain't life (a) grand (old flag)?!

Can we send a humble pie to SEN for Garry's enjoyment.

With 'Not Mentally Brittle' iced on top.

Hope he has the good grace to pump the team's tyres, this week!!

Awesome win. One for the true believers!

Go Dees!

I think he will. I reckon he's pretty reasonable and balanced with his analysis. He may even claim the lashing 'worked' ala Patrick Smith!

I think Gary's qualm is to do with what will happen next week. And that's what it's always been.

Sure enjoy the win against Adelaide, but how many times have we seen this club get up for a 'response game' only to lose again the following week?

I want to see us beat the kangas and then the suns. Then I'll a celebrate a bit more.

One thing I loved today which hasn't been spoken about is dom tysons aggression, I thought he really stepped it up today and some of his tackles were brutal, he's been to easy to get passed until this week

absolutely! i've always seen him as a soft, easy ball kinda guy.. he was dare i say it.. intimidating ?

Great win considering:

1.No Hogan or Gawn.

2.A hostile crown of Subsidised Australians.

3. Terrible first half umpiring, throwing from Adelaide allowed.

4.We came from 4 goals down after gifted goals to Tex.

Neville Jetta.

Kept Eddie Betts to just two goals and nine touches. I'm still convinced he'd be talked up as an All Australian if he played for Hawthorn or Geelong.

Nope. Gotta do it more than once.

Gotta do it when teams come at you time and time again and you hold them off.

Fantastic result,  could only watch the reports on the feed,

As one other poster says   We fade out in many games last night as well in the second quarter,

But what a turn around,  Can anyone who was there or watrched put a finger on why the turnaround happened or what caused the change in play.

I am probably going next week so don't expect the same out put    We don't often win with me in attendance    Go Dees

Big thumbs up to Goodwin in this game. Obviously running Bernie on Sloane worked great, but the little things turned the game. Tmac up fwd caught Adelaide of guard, 2 quick goals. Petracca extended minutes in the guts in the second half doesn't happen by fluke, and he was as big as anyone in turning the game. Nullifying Jenkins completely. Great job

i must say, I think we got a great run with the umpires last night. I guess when your cracking in first and harder decisions go your way but there was a heap of calls and non calls that went out way

Agreed.  Nev was great, and Eddie hardly got a sniff.  But, have to hand it to Eddie.  He's just gotta get hold of the ball and you can bet it will end in a goal.  Both of his goals last night were freakish.  So, to limit him to just two was a great effort by Nev!!

Game was umpired better once they only had two.

It was quite noticeable, one minute they were pulling stuff out of their backsides, then all of a sudden whistle went to sleep and the game was umpired from a "only pay the obvious" perspective. Much better approach I reckon

We say it every week but the guy is a star regularly takes and beats the best small forwards in the comp. Composed, creative and solid as a bull too. One of my favourites.

Oh and his grandma was wrong, pretty sure we ended up with the better Jetta ;)

That was a fantastic win.

The handballing forward through the stoppages that was killing us last week against Hawthorn was unbelievable last night. It's a very clever game plan because unless teams bring insane levels of pressure at the contest with 1-2 short sharp handballs the oppositions entire zone is out of position. It's super frustrating when it's not quite right because it feels like we are doing so much contested work with little reward (see rounds 2-7) but when it's clean it's awe inspiring to watch.

As a total aside I think Adelaide have some real leadership questions to ask now. They are an experienced team and they threw nothing at us. Walker is too far off the ball to help, and it can't all be up to Sloan.

Just watching the replay....was it a goal?

I reckon it hit the post

Idgaf anyway...

I wondered this too. Hard to tell.

Am I the only one that thinks Salem was clear BOG? Just about every stat he had was key - a tackle or spoil when they were out, a quick little handball or kick out of traffic relieving the pressure, or a deliberate buĺlet to the corridor allowing us to score. Clearly his best game at the club and the standard from now on.

This is not diminishing the contributions of Viney, Oliver, Petracca, Hibberd or Pedo.

Btw does anyone think Josh Jenkins is an example of 'Built like Tarzan plays like Jane'. When i saw Oscar on him i was worried due to the bigger frame, yet Jenkins was bruise free today.

Absolute soft.

GO THE MIGHTY REDLEGS.

Don't worry Flemo I'm pretty sure many Demon supporters have had that mocca/Moz feeling when attending/not attending matches over the years. I certainly have many times!

As I mentioned after last week's horribilis, I was hoping that shocker was our line in the sand loss with regard to the ongoing mental fragility of the club. Last night is a great win and huge result but again on the back of a massive let down the week before.

Let's see if we can now put 3 in a row together and also win going in as favourites and with the weight of expectation upon us.  If we win 3 to 4 in a row under those types of circumstances then we will have turned the corner and finally matured upstairs.  If so we are on our way to finals and possibly a top 4 finish with a bit of improvement on the injury front.

Oh, and aside from coping with expectation, provided we don't revert and regress back to anything resembling last week's hand ball insanity.  If we do then it won't matter how much we have matured....playing that rubbish is a recipe for a loss regardless of how well they handle expectations.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
