Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Apart from Sizzle I don't really think the Dorks have much we need, given they'd want overs for anyone they trade out. Maybe Gunston, or young Burton looks good. Tom Mitchell won't go anywhere, neither will Roughy.

We got Lewis for a late pick. I'm happy with that from them.

Yep, definitely need more small forwards who go missing when the going gets tough. Soon we'll have a whole list full of them. Next.

The guy has done the following:

2012- 39 goals (regular season)

2013- 37 goals

2014- 53 goals

2015- 45 goals

2016- 43 goals

2017- 9 goals (on track for 33 at 1.5 a game)

If you don't think that would be handy for our side then you've got no idea.

It's a mute point anyway as was discussed he has already re-signed.

With clubs like the Swans and Hawks languishing down the bottom of the ladder there is a chance we might be able to pick up a handy player on the cheap.  Those clubs may look to refresh their lists and we could possibly be the beneficiaries of this.  Who are those players?  I have no idea, but I have no doubt the club will be monitoring the situation closely.

My favourite bit of this was "I know he is a downhill skier, but he is genuinely good downhill skier". How good is it to be able to talk about guys who are downhill skiers and bringing them into the club rather than getting rid of them?????

He is going to cost draft picks and the only way I want us using a draft pick on a trade this year is for a KPP, ready to go mid (e.g. Kelly, Whitfield, Hopper, Kennedy), or trading for a future 1st rounder. Now to find the next Hawthorn to trade with.....

makes sense .. a variant on the GWS methodology

Underscores how stagnant we have become that when we clean out our older players Dunn etc we have to give them away if not pay someone else.

Hawks have given away their first and second round picks this year so definitely they'll be looking to trade back into the draft. They've done it before offloading players like Hay and scoring big time so they'll try to do it again.

The main problem is their best are ageing. Hodge, Gibson even Roughy are last legs options. Besides Roughy should stay for sentiment if nothing else- he is a heart and soul character.

Frawley? Ha ha.

I don't want Cyril - great highlight reel but does not get enough of it. He is icing only. Age is catching him and Poppy too. Breust I'd have but as discussed is locked in.

For mine that only leaves Gunston as a target. His kicking is off atm but he is a class act. Otherwise don't touch them.

Personally... I would be looking at our 1st rounder for Isaac Smith...

Not at 29 going on 30 next year...

With Lewis as the precedent then maybe a pick in the 80's should do it.

I'm keen but 1st round is a little too high.

He will turn 29 at the end of the year and he relies on his pace so he's got a limited lifespan in the game.

Our 2nd might be enough nearly be though.  Maybe plus ANB - there was some scuttle last year in the Lewis trade that he was in the Hawks sights.

Looks like "free kick, Hawthorn" is lost from the lexicon. good.

Yikes!!

Forgot he was a mature-age recruit.

Point taken.

I'd look to Sydney personally surely they have ongoing salary cap pressure and underperforming is going to be difficult to manage.

Sam Reid?

Has Mills re-signed? I know it's a long shot, but a young leader, hard, great user off half back, will eventually be able to roll into the midfield. If he is available, I'd offer him a 5-6 year deal and maybe a first rounder or two. Though maybe we have more pressing needs such as composure in the KPB position...

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
