Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Dogs have almost no traditional football structure, just 15 great competitive footballers of varying height, and a couple of battlers who do a job.

5 years ago there side would have looked ridiculous.

We can win on Sunday if we outwork.

Interesting comment, shades of John Northey 1987???

A fair result. The umpires not doing Australian rules any favours. It would have stuck in my claw if the dogs had won it. Ugly mauls and nonsensical umpiring never more evident than in this game. Well done AFL, you are bastardising the game.

Remember the Orange bananas as the rent a cheer squad at the MCG a few years back. It would be an hilarious memory except that they thrashed us despite MFC being the odds on favourites

As an earlier poster mentioned the Giants still have some serious talent to return...........

Bulldogs inaccurate kicking cost them big time. Lao what the hell was that kick by Dunkley in the final term? It looked like a combination of a shot for goal and a pass. Im sorry I have defended this man and has said how he played his biggest game on the most important day but Tom Boyd has to start coming under some scrutiny for his games. Not like Watts did because that is just to extreme,

But there was a point in the game tonight where Ward just ran past him and Boyd just stopped running and as for that last shot at goal where he shanked it my god.

Then you see Murphy is is 34, coming back on a knee re construction and manages to burn off a young GWS kid and pass the ball beautifully.

But GWS are a very tall team with some big targets and a very fast midfield. Anyway it was a great game to watch.

As good as Murphy was, he should have been pinged that time for running too far without bouncing the ball.

Not the umpires fault they have to adjudicate stupid rules and "interpretations"

They can adjudicate however they like, as long as it's consistent over the course of a game. If they're tough on deliberates for one team early in the game, they have to carry that through the game. If they were at least consistent, it would be much less of a problem.

Toby Greene must get 4 weeks for that deliberate round arm face punch tonight v. the Bulldogs.

The only reason he didn't shatter his opponents mandible was because he got him flush in the mouth, across the lips and teeth.

It was in a different league to the face to face jumper punches of Lewis and Hogan, who were dealt with too harshly by the MRP.

The arrogant little Cousins look -a- like has been warned, but took no heed.

The fact that the victim only received a cut lip is irrelevant. It was vicious, and much more likely to cause severe injury than the misdemeanours of Vince, Hogan or Lewis.

Surprised to see Footscray, who have enjoyed armchair rides from the umps for as long as I can remember, get robbed tonight.

The 50 m against Easton Wood to give Patton a shot right in front in Q4 was blatantly unfair.

Wood was watching the ump, waiting for him to shout "play on!". The ump gave Patton an eternity, then yelled " move it on !". Wood thought it was "play on," and a ridiculous, match losing goal was conceded.

There was also a blatant deliberate o.o.b.  by Greene towards the end, which the ump didn't pay, despite being very severe on deliberate calls all night prior to that.

Few thoughts on the game.

Greene should get a week no more, ball is there to be spoilt, it's not behind play, yes it was late -free kick and 50 m I think that's fair.

Why do the AFL field umpires not collaborate with the boundary line umpires to make deliberate OOB  decisions? There were two clear incidents where deliberate should have been paid and umpire had said "couldn't see" and "it came of someone else" the boundary umpire was right there!

Umpires are atrocious in general ATM and it's clearly not their fault but they are looking like the idiots because their bosses have no idea .I hope it was the downfield umpire that called the dangerous tackle against mummy because it looked like the umpire in the centre called for a ball up then after he realised libba was groggy then paid the free.  Almost MRP like in that if u injure a player it's a free if not play on.

There was a incident last week where JKH marked in the middle and I think it was grimes hit him late slightly high and JKH sprung up and played on. I'm thinking if he stays down he gets 50m. The dogs players do it, should we ?

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
