Pedo will be giving a fair amount of height to Bellchambers , who by the way, is a useful tap ruckman. So his main job will be to compete and muscle Bellchambers  to ensure the Essendon mids aren't handfed. Our mids are good enough to gain the advantage from there.

A couple of marks around the ground would top it off.

In answer to the opening question, if Pedersen plays permanent forward, contested marks, marks inside 50 and providing opportunities for the smaller players to kick goals is what I'll be looking for. He will need to be our pseudo-Hogan.

Last time he did that (and did it well), we smashed the Dorks when they were on a roll and sent them on their downward spiral.  Mind you we had Big Max being his best Big Max and Vines in top form on that day too - oh to have that combo back.

The curve balls could be used to good effect, provided all of the stand-ins can give us something.  If we can get it right, it could be quite hard to play/coach against.

Pedersen’s biggest strength is his ability to straighten us up. He sticks to structures, and makes it easier for his team-mates to do the same. He’s a very valuable contributor, and I’m confident he’ll show that again this weekend.

If he can do as well as Dunkley just did for the Dogs then he will be going ok...put pressure on try and get some ground ball but understand the oppo ruck is going to get plenty of clean hands on the ball. Try to not let him get too many to advantage.

...but it means the mids have got a lot of work ahead of them.

Probably why we've gone in small, expect a lot of midfield rotations this week.

The Bombers will think they've entered some strange alternative dimension when they see Milkshake in the red and blue lining up for ruck duties at the centre-bounce.

I'm surprised by Stretch and Harmes out. Stretch did look tired last week, but he hasn't been rested, he's been specifically omitted. Their pace would have been handy through the midfield.
