Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Toby Greene was close to being a Demon

Interesting. I still maintain he's been limited as a midfielder by his poor decision making under real heat, but he's a dominant gun forward these days. I wonder how long it'll last?

Greene went to Wesley, so I'm going to guess he was a Melbourne supporter.  Anyone know? :P I wonder if he'd be interested in returning to Victoria after GWS win a couple of flags in the next 3 years.

Thats what i was intrigued by. I remember at the time there was tiny bit of talk about Greene but nothing on Tyson.

At that time Greene was a midfielder who was an asset finding the ball but a liability with it in his hands. Couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo. I think he'd also been in some off-field incidents that may have called his character into question.

Credit to the kid for reinventing himself as a forward - a bloody good one at that

No, he and his Dad were made keen Magpie supporters.  No interest or time for Melbourne.

Is yours a family connection or a Wesley connection, Ernest? If it's a Wesley connection, it might explain why you remind me of my old man. ;)

Yes, would love to have him on board but I suspect the younger Toby failed the NDH test.

I'm looking forward to hearing more from Roos over the next year or 2 of his time at the club etc.  He obviously still cares enough to go to our games when he isn't foxtelling other games so his insights would be quite interesting.

Could Brayshaw be moulded into a similar player for that type of role?

I watched Greens most recent highlight package today and the way he moves and plucks the ball in contested marking situations reminded me a lot of Gus in 2015.

Greene as a bag of chips thrown into the Tyson trade certainly would have beaten the initial players mooted in the deal (even though Bugg ended up joining a couple of years later anyway):

Roos will be in part judged on our continued development and hopeful success. Which means he's stuck in our corner. And that it's in his best interests to cast subtle, destabilising tid-bits regarding our primary competitors out into world. Being also now that he's in the perfect position to do. His rhetorical manner has form in such a regard. He's surely broken some unwritten rule here with such a revelation and GWS are most probably 'unpleased'. Fantastic.

Toby's dad Mick and uncle Paul were terrific A Grade ammos with De La Salle late 70's and thru the 80's.  Mick was the outstanding A Grade ruckman for 10 years and Jon Anderson rated him as First Ruck in his best Ammo team of the last 25 years a few years back.  He was barely 6' 2" in the old but hands like buckets.

We won several Premierships on the back of Mick's rucking & marking and on a few occasions I would have to discreetly help him put on his boots because he often arrived the worse for wear.  Never been a bigger partier than Mick but a terrific bloke and a family of Magpie tragics.

I remember watching Greene in his first couple of years and seeing bits of play that made me take note. I kind of liked his cockyness and raw talent. I have no idea how much of a dh he might be, and I appreciate Roos' policy, but imo it was clear he had ability yet needed direction and focus, something that I thought was Roos' forte. Thank god it wasn't Bugg and Bunting plus 9 for 2, as the second link suggests.

Well AF, I may be labelled if I answer this question.  I could say that I have connections both ways, but my knowledge comes from only one. I will claim some sort of right to privilege on this one.

I can tell you that his dad was a legend in the amateurs playing to my recollection over 300 games for De La Salle.  Never saw him play but I am told he was one hell of a tough dude on the field. He was recruited by the Tigers but hurt his knee in his first or second season and went back to the Amos.

However, if I remind you of your old man, that's a worry but also a compliment. Well, I hope so.

Gus is a way better footballer in traffic. Forward is precisely the place I wouldn't play him. He looks lost. However, if played off half back or in the middle, he looks very comfortable.

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim
